Job summary

OpenMetal, Inc. is seeking a Network Architect to lead strategic design, technical direction, and hands-on optimization of our enterprise network across data centers, cloud interconnects, and global offices.

You will define topology, ensure uptime, low latency, and scalable performance while championing robust security practices. You will work with US-based engineering leadership and customer-facing teams, applying Python, Ansible, and Terraform to automate provisioning and operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, including 3+ years in a Senior or Architect capacity.
• Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills with US-facing interfaces.
• Deep hands-on mastery of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching, MPLS, VXLAN, and IPsec VPNs.
• Proven track record with enterprise-grade platforms (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, F5, or Fortinet).
• Strong experience with cloud networking (AWS DirectConnect / Azure ExpressRoute) and scripting/automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve core network topologies across data centers, WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity.
• Serve as senior technical authority for high-tier customer escalations and complex troubleshooting.
• Drive network automation using Python, Ansible, and Terraform to streamline provisioning and operations.
• Architect and manage hybrid-cloud interconnects between on-prem data centers and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack).
• Implement and maintain enterprise monitoring, alerting, and capacity-planning systems to enforce SLAs.
• Collaborate with global DevOps, Security, and Product teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop comprehensive network diagrams, disaster recovery blueprints, and operational standards.

Job description

We are seeking a Network Architect to help lead the strategic design, technical direction, and hands-on optimization of our enterprise network infrastructure. In this role, you will define network topology across data centers, cloud interconnects, and global office locations while driving network automation and robust security practices.

Because this role directly supports our US customer base and collaborates daily with US-based engineering leadership, fluent, executive-level English communication (written and spoken) is essential.

Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Strategy: Design, build, and evolve core network topologies, enterprise WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity to ensure maximum uptime, low latency, and high scalability.

US Customer & Escalation Support: Serve as the senior technical authority for high-tier customer escalations, complex network troubleshooting, and critical cross-platform incidents.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive network automation using Python, Ansible, and Terraform to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows.

Cloud & Datacenter Interconnects: Architect and manage hybrid-cloud networking solutions connecting on-premises data centers to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack).

Performance & Telemetry: Implement and maintain enterprise monitoring, alerting, and capacity-planning systems to enforce strict SLAs and continuous optimization.

Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with global DevOps, Security, and Product teams while providing technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior engineers.

Documentation & Compliance: Develop comprehensive network diagrams, disaster recovery blueprints, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 8+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a Senior or Architect capacity.

Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to interface directly with US teams and customers.

Networking Expertise: Deep hands-on mastery of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching, MPLS, VXLAN, and IPsec VPNs.

Hardware & Platforms: Proven track record with enterprise-grade platforms (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, F5, or Fortinet).

Cloud & Automation: Strong experience with cloud networking (AWS DirectConnect / Azure ExpressRoute) and network scripting/automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced certifications such as CCIE, CCNP (Enterprise/Data Center), JNCIE, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking.

Prior experience working in a global delivery model supporting US enterprise clients.
