Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Network Monitoring and Optimization – Oversee network performance, ensuring uptime and optimal configurations across Cisco Meraki, FortiGate, Cisco, public cloud networking operations, Cisco ISE and SD-WAN environments. Manage Cisco ACI and Cisco Nexus environments, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and recommend enhancements. Monitor network health and proactively address ACI, Nexus switch, and routing issues.
• Complex Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution – Act as the escalation point for Level 1 engineers, resolving advanced incidents related to firewalls, DNS, Zscaler, SD‑WAN, and load balancers (NetScaler/F5). Diagnose and resolve application‑level network issues, including routing, site‑to‑site VPNs, and traffic‑shaping problems. Configure BGP and OSPF routing protocols and conduct root‑cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Manage and troubleshoot Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for access control and security policy enforcement.
• Network Configuration and Implementation – Design and implement advanced configurations for firewalls, load balancers, SD‑WAN, and Zscaler to meet business needs. Manage DNS records with load‑balancing, fail‑over, and CDN integrations. Assist in planning and executing network upgrades, migrations, and multi‑site deployments, ensuring high availability and redundancy for ACI fabric, Nexus switches, and routing protocols.
• Security and Compliance – Implement and manage complex firewall rules and VPNs. Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with security standards. Support Zscaler policy configuration and integration with other security tools.
• Collaboration and Mentorship – Work with cross‑functional teams to implement network changes with minimal disruption. Mentor Level 1 engineers, providing training, guidance, and support to improve skill levels. Liaise with vendors for escalated support, product updates, and feature enablement.
• Documentation and Reporting – Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for network infrastructure, configurations, and processes. Generate performance, incident‑resolution, and system‑health reports for stakeholders. Maintain updated network‑topology diagrams and records.
• Strategic Contributions – Participate in network‑architecture design discussions, offering insights and recommendations. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to improve operational efficiency. Lead small‑scale projects involving optimization, hardware refreshes, or policy implementations.
• Disaster Recovery and Backup – Manage backup and restoration processes for firewalls, DNS servers, load balancers, and SD‑WAN devices. Play a key role in disaster‑recovery planning and execution to ensure rapid service restoration.

Skills And Qualifications

• In‑depth experience with Cisco Meraki, FortiGate, CheckPoint, or Cisco firewall technologies.
• Strong expertise in Cisco ACI and Cisco Nexus series switches.
• Proficiency in SD‑WAN technologies, advanced routing, and policy configurations.
• Hands‑on experience with Zscaler deployment and advanced policy management.
• Advanced knowledge of load balancers such as NetScaler and F5, including traffic steering and SSL offloading.
• In‑depth understanding and hands‑on experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
• Hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for security policy enforcement.

Tools And Platforms

• Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
• Familiarity with firewall management systems (e.g., FortiManager, Cisco FMC, ASDM) and SD‑WAN controllers.

Certifications (Preferred)

• CCNP, Fortinet NSE 5 or above, Zscaler ZCE, or equivalent.
• NetScaler certifications are an added advantage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Handle escalations and advanced troubleshooting beyond routine issues.
• Take ownership of critical incidents and lead their resolution.
• Contribute to network design and improvement discussions.
• Mentor and upskill junior team members.
• Ensure systems are compliant with the latest security standards and best practices.
