NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Location: Bangalore

Shift: 9x5 with On-Call Support | 24x7 Service

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The role includes proactive monitoring, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of network devices, firewalls, wireless access points, and related systems, while adhering to ITIL processes and supporting a 24x7 service window for core network and infrastructure applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls across the enterprise network, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Cisco devices and wireless infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and manage large-scale enterprise wireless networks, optimizing coverage and performance.
• Perform regular backups and restoration of network device configurations to ensure business continuity and data protection.
• Monitor network devices and infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools such as ManageEngine OpManager, Nagios, or SolarWinds, and respond to alerts and diagnostics.
• Allocate and manage bandwidth across network segments to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist in network or security hardware/software refresh projects, including setup, configuration, and deployment.
• Manage firewall operations, including configuration and security compliance, with experience in firewall management tools such as Panorama.
• Oversee proxy management for Blue Coat Proxy until decommission, ensuring security and performance.
• Maintain and monitor Cisco routers, switches, access points, and wireless LAN controllers (WLC), applying IOS updates and patches regularly.
• Implement and manage network security best practices, including firewall and access control configurations.
• Utilize ITSM tools such as BMC Helix or ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management, ensuring adherence to ITIL processes.
• Respond promptly to high-priority incidents and outages, coordinating resolution efforts to minimize downtime.
• Participate in change management and problem management processes for network updates and recurring issues.
• Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, incident resolutions, and network architecture.
• Create and modify SOPs and knowledge base articles to support operational efficiency.
• Support network security initiatives and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Work in a 24x7 service window with rotational shifts.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Networking Devices: Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, WLC, SD WAN
• Wireless Infrastructure: Setup, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise WiFi networks
• Monitoring Tools: ManageEngine OpManager, Nagios, SolarWinds
• Patch Management: ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus or similar tools
• ITSM Tools: BMC Helix, ServiceNow
• Protocols: TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, routing technologies
• Backup & Restoration: Network device configuration backups and restoration procedures
• Firewall Management: Experience with firewall configuration and management, including Panorama
• Security: Implementation of network security best practices and policies
• Cloud Networking (Optional): Basic understanding of cloud networking principles and integration with AWS or Azure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
• Experience with Panorama for firewall management
• Familiarity with network security best practices
• Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS/Azure) is a plus

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

• Graduate/Post Graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field
