Role Description

The Mold Designer role at Helli Moulds is a full-time, on-site position based in Vasai. The Mold Designer will be responsible for creating detailed mold designs and tooling layouts for injection molding and related applications, ensuring manufacturability, durability, and alignment with customer specifications. Daily tasks include collaborating with design engineers and production teams, preparing and revising 2D/3D drawings, performing design reviews, and optimizing mold designs for cycle time, quality, and cost. The role also involves interpreting customer requirements, selecting appropriate materials and components, troubleshooting design-related issues during trials, and maintaining accurate design documentation. The Mold Designer will work closely with quality and engineering teams to support continuous improvement and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Mold Design and Injection Molding skills, including practical understanding of mold components and molding processes.
• Candidates should possess Tooling Design and Design Engineering skills, with experience in designing tooling solutions and engineering parts for manufacturability.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of molds and related manufacturing methods, including material selection, tolerance analysis, and fit/function considerations.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, or similar) and 2D/3D modeling tools.
• Relevant experience in plastic injection molds or precision tooling design within industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams in design, production, and quality.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related technical field is preferred.
