Job summary

Auxein Medical is seeking a Mold Design Engineer in India to design and develop plastic injection molds for new products. You will prepare 3D models, detailed drawings, and collaborate across departments to ensure DFMs and smooth mold fabrication.

The role requires hands-on mold development experience, trial runs, and problem-solving to optimize mold performance and product quality, while guiding junior engineers and coordinating with tool rooms.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience in plastic injection mold design and development.
• Experience designing precision molds for medical devices, automotive, consumer goods, or engineering plastics.
• Hands-on experience in new mold development, mold trials, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plastic injection molds for new products.
• Prepare 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Review product designs and provide DFM recommendations.
• Design mold layouts, gating systems, cooling circuits, venting, ejection mechanisms, sliders, lifters, and hot runner systems.
• Coordinate with tool room and external tool manufacturers during mold fabrication.
• Conduct mold trials and identify tooling or molding issues.
• Analyze defects such as flash, short shot, sink marks, weld lines, burn marks, warpage, and dimensional variations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Optimize existing molds for improved productivity, cycle time, and product quality.
• Support new product development from concept to production.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, R&D, Procurement, and Maintenance teams.
• Manage engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) related to molds.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, design documents, revision records, and validation reports.
• Ensure timely completion of mold development projects.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and tool room personnel.
