Job summary

Sopra Steria in Chennai (Siruseri) is seeking a software professional with 2–4 years of COBOL/DB2/JCL/VSAM experience to join development/support under UK shift hours in a hybrid work model.

You will code, unit test, fix incidents, handle change requests, and assist with post-implementation support while aligning with predefined timelines and quality standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, with a collaborative mindset to work across teams in India and the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2–4 years in COBOL/legacy systems.
• Location: Chennai (Siruseri), India.
• Shift: UK Shift; hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for coding, unit testing, application development/support, bug fixing and deliver tasks assigned as per predefined timelines and quality standards.
• Work on change requests from business.
• The resolution and recovery of assigned Incidents.
• Analyses incidents to identify service restoration actions to be taken.
• Incident investigation and diagnosis of all priority type.
• Assists with classification and prioritization of incidents.
• Detection of possible Problems and the creating a problem records.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Investigates assigned problems through to resolution or error identification.
• Handle ad-hoc requests for Service status or one-time information retrieval/reports.
