Job summary

Infosys in Bengaluru seeks an experienced professional for mainframe operations or development with strong JCL and batch processing focus. You will monitor and manage daily, weekly, monthly batch cycles, and initiate batch execution using scheduling tools such as TWS and Control-M.

Key responsibilities include root cause analysis of batch failures, troubleshooting JCL and related issues, and performing restarts and recoveries per procedures. ServiceNow and Jira familiarity is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in mainframe operations or development with focus on batch processing.
• Strong knowledge of JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2 and IMS DB.
• Experience in monitoring and managing daily, weekly, monthly batch cycles.
• Proficiency with scheduling tools like TWS and Control-M.
• Familiarity with incident management processes and ServiceNow/Jira.

Job description

Strong experience in Mainframe Operations and/or Development environments. Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) programming, debugging, and troubleshooting. Good knowledge of: COBOL CICS DB2 IMS Database Experience in monitoring and managing batch processing cycles (daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc). Hands-on experience with enterprise scheduling tools such as: TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) Control-M

• Strong knowledge mainframe operations or development, with a strong focus on JCL and batch processing.
• Good knowledge and understanding of COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS database
• Monitor and manage daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc batch processing operations, ensuring timely completion of scheduled jobs.
• Initiate, track, and control batch job execution using Scheduling tools.
• Analyze batch job failures , performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot JCL errors, application-related issues, and system-level problems affecting batch processing.
• Perform restarts and recoveries of failed batch jobs as per defined procedures .
• Proficiency in JCL programming and debugging.
• Knowledge of incident management processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills and able to drive the things on own
• Need to have ServiceNow, Jira, TWS scheduler, Control-M tool knowledge
