Job Summary
The Sales MIS professional will be responsible for preparing and managing sales reports, analyzing sales performance, maintaining sales databases, monitoring distributor inventory, and providing actionable insights to the sales and management teams. The role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel knowledge, understanding of FMCG sales operations, and experience in handling primary and secondary sales data.
Key Responsibilities
Sales MIS & Reporting
- Prepare and circulate Daily Sales Reports (DSR), Weekly Sales Reports (WSR), and Monthly Business Reports.
- Consolidate sales data across multiple states, regions, distributors, products, and sales channels.
- Prepare reports covering primary sales, secondary sales, stock movement, and market performance.
- Track sales targets versus achievements at State, Region, Area, Territory, and Distributor levels.
- Develop and publish management dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports.
Data Management & Analysis
- Maintain accurate sales databases, master data, and reporting structures.
- Validate and reconcile sales data received from regional sales teams and distributors.
- Analyze sales trends, growth patterns, product/SKU performance, and territory-wise productivity.
- Identify performance gaps, data anomalies, sales opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Support sales forecasting and demand planning through historical and current sales analysis.
Distributor & Inventory Monitoring
- Monitor distributor stock levels and secondary sales performance.
- Track stock availability, inventory aging, slow/non-moving inventory, and replenishment requirements.
- Prepare reports on stock transfers, inventory movement, and liquidation plans.
- Highlight potential stock-out and overstock situations to relevant stakeholders.
Sales Performance & KPI Tracking
Monitor and analyze key sales performance indicators, including:
- Sales Achievement %
- Primary and Secondary Sales
- Product/SKU-wise Sales
- Territory-wise Performance
- Distributor Productivity
- Outlet Coverage
- Beat Productivity
- Growth vs Previous Period
- Month-on-Month and Year-on-Year Growth
- Stock and Inventory KPIs
Support incentive calculations, sales contests, and performance tracking for the field sales team.
Dashboard & Report Automation
- Develop and maintain Excel-based MIS reports, dashboards, and management trackers.
- Automate repetitive reports using Advanced Excel, Pivot Tables, formulas, Power Query, and other Excel tools.
- Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround time through automation.
Coordination & Business Support
- Coordinate with State Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers, sales teams, and distributors for timely data collection and validation.
- Provide ad-hoc sales reports and analytical insights to management.
- Support periodic sales reviews and management meetings.
- Assist in business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and target-setting exercises.

Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in FMCG Sales MIS, Sales Analytics, Business Analytics, or Sales Operations.
- Hands-on experience managing sales data across multiple territories, states, or distributors.
- Good understanding of FMCG distributor operations, primary/secondary sales, inventory, outlet coverage, and field sales KPIs.
