Job summary

Fashionc Overseas Exports is seeking a Merchandiser to manage buyer coordination, product development, and production timelines. You will liaise with Design, Sampling, Pattern and Production teams to ensure styles move from concept to delivery while adhering to cost targets and quality standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of tech packs, measurements, costing, and TNA, with excellent buyer communication and proficiency in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Design, Fabric, Trims, Sampling and Production teams for new styles.

• Monitor fabric, trims, sampling, cutting, stitching, finishing and packing.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to meet buyer quality requirements.

Job description

Merchandiser Roles & Responsibilities

1. Buyer & Order Coordination

• Communicate with buyers regarding styles, orders, comments, approvals and requirements.
• Understand buyer tech packs, specifications, measurement charts and quality standards.
• Coordinate buyer queries and ensure timely responses.

2. Product Development

• Coordinate with the Design, Sampling, Pattern and Production teams for new styles.
• Follow up on samples, fit samples, size sets and pre-production samples.
• Ensure all buyer comments are incorporated before production.

3. Production & TNA Management

• Prepare and monitor TNA (Time & Action) calendars.
• Follow up on fabric, trims, sampling, cutting, stitching, finishing and packing.
• Ensure orders are completed as per delivery timelines.
• Identify delays and coordinate corrective actions.

4. Fabric & Trims Coordination

• Coordinate with Fabric and Trims teams for material requirements.
• Check fabric/trims availability against order requirements.
• Follow up on lab dips, fabric approvals, trims approvals and accessories.

5. Costing & Order Follow-up

• Prepare garment costing based on fabric, trims, CMT, washing, embroidery/printing and other costs.
• Coordinate with sourcing and production teams to achieve target costing.
• Maintain order sheets and update order status regularly.

6. Quality & Compliance

• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure buyer quality requirements are followed.
• Monitor quality issues during sampling and production.
• Ensure buyer-specific compliance and documentation requirements are completed.

7. Internal Coordination

• Work closely with Design, Fabric, Trims, Sampling, Production, QA, Stores and Shipping teams.
• Conduct regular follow-ups and production meetings.
• Maintain proper records of approvals, comments and order documents.

8. Shipment Management

• Monitor production status and shipment schedules.
• Coordinate with the commercial/shipping team for timely dispatch.
• Ensure shipment documents and packing requirements are completed.

Key Skills – NIIFT/NIFT Merchandiser

• Strong garment construction and fashion knowledge
• Good understanding of fabric, trims, garments and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of tech packs, measurements, costing and TNA
• Strong buyer communication skills
• Good English communication and email drafting
• MS Excel and ERP knowledge
• Problem-solving and follow-up skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Knowledge of fashion trends and garment development
• NIIFT/NIFT background preferred
