Job summary

MENDU ENTERPRISE PRIVATE LIMITED (MEPL) is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer for a Data Centre project in Bengaluru. You will coordinate and execute electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting works, ensuring integration with civil and structural activities, while maintaining quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have 4–8 years in MEP execution, with knowledge of drawings, BOQs, and testing/commissioning. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is expected; BIM/Revit coordination is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of relevant experience in MEP execution for data centres, large commercial buildings or similar infrastructure projects.
• Practical knowledge of electrical/HVAC/plumbing/firefighting systems and their site interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor site MEP works covering Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting and associated utility systems.
• Review drawings, BOQ and method statements before execution.
• Coordinate MEP requirements with civil, structural, architectural and other services to identify clashes.
• Coordinate sleeves, openings, embedded items, equipment foundations, cable routes and service spaces with the civil team.
• Supervise contractors/subcontractors and monitor daily work progress and resource deployment.
• Verify materials received at site against approved specifications and ensure proper installation.
• Prepare/check measurements, quantities and work completion details for contractor billing.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC, Safety, consultants and client representatives.
• Ensure MEP works comply with drawings, specifications, standards and HSE requirements.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of MEP systems and maintain records.
• Identify site constraints and interface issues and escalate for resolution.
• Maintain progress records and highlight delays or risks to schedule.
• Support preparation of as-built drawings, test reports, O&M documentation and handover records.

ROLE PURPOSE

To coordinate and execute MEP works at the Data Centre project in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality and safety requirements, ensuring proper integration with civil, structural and other project activities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

• 4–8 years of relevant experience in MEP execution for Data Centres, large commercial buildings, industrial facilities or similar infrastructure projects.
• Practical knowledge of electrical/HVAC/plumbing/firefighting systems and their site interfaces.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, layouts, schematics, BOQs and technical specifications.
• Exposure to testing and commissioning activities.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office; familiarity with BIM/Revit coordination is an advantage.
• Good contractor supervision, site coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Awareness of construction quality and HSE practices.
• Good communication and coordination skills with a hands-on, site-oriented approach.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATION

The MEP Engineer will be accountable for ensuring that assigned MEP works are executed correctly the first time, coordinated before construction, completed safely and on schedule, tested properly and handed over with complete documentation.
