Job summary

Tekman India in Pune, Maharashtra, is seeking a field service engineer to perform repair, installation, and commissioning of vacuum pumps and related systems at customer sites across India and abroad. The role involves troubleshooting, servicing, and identifying spare parts, with on-site safety compliance.

You will generate accurate site reports in English, support the sales team with parts, and maintain service records in the ERP system.

Qualifications

• Repair and maintenance experience in vacuum pumps and systems.
• Ability to install, commission and service pumps at customer sites.
• Proficiency in writing accurate reports in English after site completion.
• Understanding safety standards and providing on-site safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Repair and servicing of vacuum pumps and systems, with on-site troubleshooting.
• Identify spare parts and coordinate with sales for replacements.
• Write and submit site visit reports in English immediately after completion.
• Identify warranty and non-warranty cases with proper documentation.
• Generate service revenue through oil and spares per targets.
• Travel to locations across India or abroad as required.
• Maintain service information in the ERP database.
• Provide feedback to departments on on-site issues (materials, wiring, etc).
• Collect customer feedback on service and product satisfaction.
• Adhere to on-site safety standards.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for repair work of vacuum pumps and systems, installation and commissioning, pump servicing, training to the customer, and electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of the pumping system.
• Identifying correct spare parts to set the product right and informing the respective sales team for further actions.
• Writing accurate reports in English and submitting the same immediately after site completion.
• Identifying warranty/non-warranty cases and explaining the same to the customer with proper documentation.
• Generating service revenue from oil and spares as per the agreed target.
• Traveling to any location across India or outside India as per requirement.
• Creating and maintaining service information in the company ERP database.
• Providing feedback to the respective department for problems identified on-site, e.g., incorrect supply of material, faulty engineering, incorrect wiring, etc.
• Taking customer feedback on satisfaction with company service, product, etc.
• Should be aware of safety standards at the site.

Preferred candidate profile

• Preferably has field service and maintenance experience.
• Preferably has experience in vacuum pump repair work; essential skills in mechanical repair work (e.g., vacuum pumps, centrifugal pumps, gas compressors) using the correct tools and methods.
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, instruments like temperature and pressure sensors, and PLC operations.
• Understanding and use of general tools and measuring instruments.
• Willing to travel for outstation visits on request.
• Physically strong and fit for heavy‑duy mechanical work.
• Should be able to write reports in English and have basic knowledge of operating a computer.
