Job summary

Careernet seeks an Automation Design engineer with 10–12 years of SPM automation and electrical support experience. You will design SPM machines, create 3D/2D drawings, and develop BOMs.

Collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams is essential to deliver reliable automation solutions in a manufacturing setting. You should be proficient in PLC/HMI programming and GD&T, with strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

• Min. 10–12 years exp. in SPM Machine Automation Design & electrical support.
• 8+ years in a Special purpose machine/Automation Machine Design unit.
• Proven experience in developing SPMs for manual, semi-auto & Fully automatic assembly lines.
• Strong knowledge in Process and Machine design principles and Automation Skills.
• Do programming or modify programming on a need basis using PLC, HMI, etc.
• Sketch and draw up Concept SPM designs using customer inputs.
• Feasibility study for new concepts/requirements.
• Develop 3D & 2D drawings of individual assemblies with BOMs.
• Interaction with customers to understand their functional specifications.
• Good mechanical engineering basics for Industrial Automation Machines/SPM Machine design.
• Knowledge of strength of materials and basic hand calculations.
• Technical knowledge in Material selection and SPM Machine designing.
• Ability to perform with tolerance and GD&T in design and Manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of Pneumatic & Hydraulic elements and sensors.
• Knowledge of Bearings, cylinders, actuators, and Power Transmission Systems.
• Good collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design SPM machines and components based on customer specs.
• Create 3D/2D drawings of assemblies and prepare BOMs.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new concepts and requirements.
• Interact with customers to capture functional specifications.

Education: B.E Mechanical/Electrical

Experience:

Mandatory

Min. 10 to 12 years exp. in SPM Machine Automation Design & electrical support.

• Should have 8+ years of experience in a Special purpose machine/Automation Machine Design unit.
• Should be well familiar with designing SPM Machines and their components and parts dimensions calculations based on Zero faults.
• Good knowledge & proven experience in the development of SPM (Special purpose machine) for manual, semi-auto & Fully automatic assembly lines.
• Strong in Process and Machine design principles and Automation Skills
• Do the programming or modify the programming on a need basis using PLC, HMI, etc
• Sketch and draw up Concept SPM designs using the customer inputs.

• Ability to generate a bill of materials for machined components, and fabricated components, & standard items.

• Technical knowledge in Material selection and SPM Machine designing,
• Should be able to perform with tolerance and GD&T in design as well as in Manufacturing Drawings.
• Should have good knowledge of Pneumatic & Hydraulic elements and sensors.
• Should have good knowledge of Bearings, cylinders, actuators & Selection Methods, Linear motion Equipment, Steel Structure & Weldment, Mechanical Joints, and Power Transmission Systems.
• Should have good behavioral skills & collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
