Job summary

Iquest Management Consultants is seeking a Manager Mechanical Maintenance & Projects in Sanaswadi, Pune. The role demands 8–15 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, project leadership and equipment reliability. You will lead maintenance planning, oversee plant utilities, and drive TPM improvements while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

The candidate should hold a B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and be ready for immediate to 30 days notice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is essential.
• 8–15 years of hands-on maintenance and project experience required.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, reliability and TPM practices.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers, contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance for the plant.
• Manage mechanical projects from concept to installation and commissioning.
• Plan maintenance schedules, shutdowns and spares inventory.
• Drive reliability improvements and root-cause analysis.
• Oversee safety procedures, PTW/LOTO and compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and internal departments.

Position: Manager Mechanical Maintenance & Projects

Key Responsibilities

1. Mechanical Maintenance

• Lead preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities for the complete plant.
• Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimum breakdown/downtime.
• Troubleshoot recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop maintenance SOPs, schedules and equipment history.
• Monitor equipment condition and reliability.

2. Process Equipment Maintenance

Hands-on experience with maintenance of:

• Mixers and Blenders
• Reactors and Agitators
• Screw Conveyors
• Bucket Elevators
• Pneumatic Conveying Systems
• Rotary Valves and Airlocks
• Crushers and Lump Breakers

3. Utilities Maintenance

Experience in maintenance of:

4. Mechanical Projects

• Lead mechanical projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, cost estimates and project schedules.
• Review equipment designs and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors and consultants.
• Manage installation, fabrication, erection and commissioning activities.
• Support plant expansion, capacity enhancement and equipment modification projects.

5. Maintenance Planning & Shutdown

• Prepare weekly, monthly and annual maintenance plans.
• Plan and execute plant shutdowns and major equipment overhauls.
• Plan manpower, contractors, spares and resources.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and work-order completion.
• Maintain equipment history and critical maintenance records.

6. Reliability Improvement

• Conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for recurring equipment failures.
• Implement vibration analysis, thermography and other condition-monitoring techniques.
• Drive TPM and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Identify equipment modifications to improve reliability, productivity and safety.
• Drive reduction in breakdowns and maintenance costs.

7. Spare Parts & Inventory

• Identify critical mechanical spares.
• Develop and maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels.
• Monitor spare consumption.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of critical spares.

8. Team Management

• Lead maintenance engineers, supervisors, fitters, welders and technicians.
• Allocate daily maintenance activities and monitor execution.
• Develop technician skills and ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
• Manage contractors and external maintenance agencies.

9. Safety

• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and statutory requirements.
• Implement PTW and LOTO procedures.
• Ensure safe execution of maintenance, fabrication, and project activities.
• Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
