Job summary

JobItUs is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure smooth operation of plant machinery. The role involves preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment reliability on the shop floor.

The candidate will handle machines, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, read drawings, and coordinate with production for maintenance activities. Shifts may be required based on plant needs.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
• Strong hands-on approach and ability to work on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, preventive predictive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of plant machinery and equipment. The candidate will be responsible for preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.


• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and identify root causes.


• Handle maintenance of machines, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.


• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.


• Monitor machine performance and minimize equipment downtime.


• Conduct regular inspection of machinery and identify potential failures.


• Coordinate with the production team for maintenance activities.


• Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and breakdown reports.


• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and coordinate with stores/purchase.


• Follow 5S, safety procedures, and maintenance standards.


• Support continuous improvement activities to improve machine reliability and productivity.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.


• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.


• Basic understanding of bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, shafts, couplings, etc.


• Ability to read mechanical drawings.


• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.


• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.


• Good communication and team coordination skills.

Candidate Profile

• 3–4 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing/engineering industry.


• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering.


• Willingness to work in shifts, if required.


• Strong hands-on approach and ability to work on the shop floor.
