Job summary

3S Minerals Processors invites applications for a MECHANICAL HEAD to lead the Mechanical Maintenance function of its mining and mineral beneficiation plant. You will plan maintenance, shutdowns and team allocations, and drive equipment reliability to keep the plant running smoothly.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in mining or processing plants, strong leadership, vendor management and cost-control

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete Mechanical Maintenance function and ensure smooth plant operations.
• Plan and allocate engineers, supervisors and technicians across shifts.
• Develop and execute daily maintenance, preventive schedules, and shutdown planning.
• Maintain plant uptime 90%+ through planning and reliability initiatives.
• Manage OEM and non-OEM spare parts for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify wear parts and engineering solutions to improve performance.
• Develop spare strategy and maintenance cost-control measures.
• Lead breakdown maintenance, RCA, and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and internal teams for support and procurement.
• Monitor KPIs: availability, downtime, MTBF/MTTR and costs; report to Plant Head.
• Ensure safety standards and statutory compliance within the plant.

POSITION FOR MECHANICAL HEAD

Industry: Mining & Minerals Beneficiation
Reporting To: Plant Head
Experience: 15+ Years

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete Mechanical Maintenance function of the mining/mineral beneficiation plant and ensure smooth plant operations.
• Plan and allocate Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians across shifts based on operational and maintenance requirements.
• Develop and execute daily maintenance practices, preventive maintenance schedules and shutdown planning to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure plant uptime of 90%+ through effective maintenance planning, breakdown control and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Manage OEM and Non-OEM spare parts, ensuring quality, availability and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and implement life-enhancing wear parts and engineering solutions to improve equipment performance and component life.
• Develop spare strategy, critical spare inventory and maintenance cost-control measures while maintaining equipment reliability.
• Lead breakdown maintenance, root cause analysis (RCA), predictive/preventive maintenance and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors and internal teams for technical support, spare procurement and equipment improvement.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, equipment availability, downtime, MTBF, MTTR and maintenance costs, and report performance to the Plant Head.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures and statutory requirements within the plant.

Candidate Profile

• Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 15+ years in mechanical maintenance, preferably in Mining, Mineral Beneficiation, Crushing, Screening, Grinding or similar process plants.
• Strong experience in plant maintenance, shutdown planning, preventive maintenance, spares management and equipment reliability.
• Proven ability to lead large maintenance teams and maintain plant uptime above 90%.
• Strong knowledge of OEM/Non-OEM components, wear parts, critical spares and maintenance cost optimization.
• Excellent team leadership, planning, troubleshooting, and vendor management skills.
