Job summary

UltraTech Cement seeks a Mechanical Engineer (Pre & Post) to oversee packing plant operations across multiple units in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, and neighboring states. The role focuses on coordinating with logistics for timely cement dispatches via rail and road and ensuring machine readiness and safety compliance.

The incumbent will drive preventive maintenance, monitor KPI targets for power and reliability, and supervise contractor activities while ensuring SOP adherence.

Qualifications

• M. Tech / B. Tech / Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience in packing plant operations and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to coordinate with logistics and ensure timely cement dispatches.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor all operations of the Packing Plant and coordinate with logistics for timely dispatches of cement through rail and road as per targets.
• Monitor daily dispatch plan provided by logistics. Interact with logistics for wagon/truck availability and coordinate with the raw material department for empty bags and bulker arrangements for cement loading.
• Monitor loading labour/operators and ensure timely contractor payments by processing and passing bills of Packing Plant loading contract workmen.
• Monitor labour attendance and dispatch records. Verify contractor bills and physical attendance on a daily basis.
• Ensure optimum availability of Packing Plant equipment to maximize dispatch efficiency.
• Plan rectification jobs related to dispatches. Coordinate timely maintenance activities of packer machines and loading machines.
• Ensure all SOPs are followed during cement and clinker loading operations.
• Prepare and implement preventive maintenance (PM) plans for Packing Plant section equipment.
• Monitor and improve section KPIs related to power consumption, safety, and reliability.
