Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in India to lead 3D modeling and detailed drawings using NX, and to modify assemblies with minimal supervision. The role requires strong technical judgement and the ability to deliver precise designs on time.

You will analyze problem reports, implement simple solutions through change management, and interface with suppliers to ensure OEM components meet mechanical and industry standards.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8–11 years of relevant design experience.
• Proficient in 3D modeling, assemblies and detailing.
• Experience with ANSI/ASME documentation standards.
• Knowledge of engineering change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Create or modify CAD drawings of moderate scope with minimal supervision.
• Analyze problem reports and implement simple, effective solutions via change management.
• Execute design modifications for mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Select OEM components meeting functional requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain data and ensure compatibility.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Eligibility Criteria

B.E Mechanical engineering with 8to 11 years of relevant Experience in Design support activities

Primary Responsibilities

• Create or modify engineering drawings/CAD of moderate scope without supervision
• Analyze Problem Reports and implement simple & effective solution through change management practices
• Execute design modification of mechanical and electromechanical systems applying principles of mechanics
• Selection of OEM components meeting functional requirements & industry standards.
• Provide necessary interface with suppliers for data

Mandatory Skills

• Proficient in 3D Modeling, Assembly and Detailing using NX & any one PLM/PDM
• Proficient in reading and creating Mechanical Drawings, Computer-generated reports & Specifications
• Proficiency in ANSI/ASME Documentation Standards
• Engineering Change Management Process knowledge
• Good in Communication and Presentation skill
• Analytical & Problem Solving abilities

Desirable Skills

• Experience in various fabrication methods (Sheet metal & Machining)
• Knowledge on welding symbols, GD&T symbols, Surface finish, etc., will be added advantage
• Has good communication skills (written & verbal)
• Knowledge on MS office softwares like MS Excel, MS Word & MS PowerPoint
• Experience with Team Center and PLM (SAP or iPLM-innovia etc.,)
