Job summary

Integrated Personnel Services in Bengaluru seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on automation and mechatronics to design, model, and develop SPM components. You will create and review 2D drawings and assembly layouts, ensuring manufacturability and performance.

Role requires CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), GD&T knowledge, and coordination with cross‑functional teams on projects of moderate complexity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in automation, electromechanical / mechatronics and related concepts.
• Strong ability to read, interpret engineering drawings and standards for precision components.

Responsibilities

• Automate, design mechanical components and SPM systems.
• Design and develop SPM, review and check 2D drawings.
• Select motors, gears, sensors, conveyors, and integrate them into machine architecture.
• Provide technical support and work on multi-phase projects of moderate complexity.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SPM Design and Automation
Overall Purpose of the Role:
Automation, Design of mechanical engineering components, design and development of SPM , Design
review and Checking of 2D detail drawing.
Work in a team environment as a key resource for mechanical design and development.
Understand customer requirements and propose solutions keeping functionality, optimization in view
Responsibilities will include cross-functional interaction to qualify new design
Select Brought items like Motors, Linear motion system, Mechanical Power transmitting elements
(Timer Pullies, Belts, drive systems etc) and Integrate them to arrive at the architecture of the machine.
Achieve the customer specifications and requirements.Offer technical support. Work on multiple phases
or sub-tasks of projects or entire
Projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting on project completion.

Key Responsibilities and skills

• Experience in automation, electromechanical / mechatronics and related concepts.
• Understand customer requirement, propose feasible ideas and concepts.
• Well versed with creation, reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and standards particularly precision components, fabricated structures.
• Wide knowledge of automation products.
• Validation of engineering components and concepts through engineering calculations.
• Selection of commercial items like Bearings, motor, gear box, Servomotor, sensors, conveyors etc.
• Awareness about best machining process, heat treatment process, engineering materials, surface treatment, EDM EBM mechatronicsetc is an added advantage.
• Knowledge about material handling equipment.
• Able to understand and apply limits fits and tolerances, GD & T, surface finish.
• Knowledge of robotics, robot selection, application is an added advantage.
• Technical hands on CAD 2D/3D platform particularly AUTO CAD,SOLID WORKS (Mandatory)
• Preparation and presentation of DFM, DFS, DFA documentsfor New build and retrofit machines.
• Worked on Laser machine, pick and place, Dispense for automated equipment in EMS.

Qualifications and Experience Levels

• Bachelors degree / Diploma in Mechanical engineering or Equivalent with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
