Job summary

Aaditya Mechatronics Llp is seeking a capable mechanical design lead to drive the complete lifecycle of Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) projects. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks 2023, perform rigorous analyses, and maintain BOMs and technical specs.

You will collaborate with electrical and controls teams to ensure seamless integration of designs. Responsibilities include leading design reviews, addressing issues during development, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
• Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems and GD&T practices.
• Experience in SPM and industrial automation machine design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete mechanical design lifecycle of SPM projects from concept to implementation.
• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks 2023 per standards.
• Perform engineering analyses (stress, thermal, kinematic) to ensure safety and reliability.
• Create BOMs, assembly procedures, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and project management teams.
• Participate in design reviews and implement design changes as needed.
• Identify and resolve design issues during development and manufacturing.
• Mentor junior mechanical design engineers and stay updated on best practices.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the complete mechanical design lifecycle of Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) projects, from initial concept to final implementation.
• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks 2023, adhering to industry best practices and company standards.
• Perform through engineering calculations and analyses (e.g., stress, strain, thermal, kinematic) to ensure the functionality, safety, and reliability of designs.
• Generate and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), assembly procedures, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, controls engineers, manufacturing personnel, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.
• Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and implementing necessary design modifications.
• Identify and resolve design-related issues and challenges during the development and manufacturing phases.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to SPM.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, processes, and tools.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior mechanical design engineers.
• Occasionally travel to vendor or customer sites as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., SolidWorks 2023).
• Knowledge of automation and control systems relevant to SPM.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Experience in SPM and industrial automation machine design will be preferred.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, linear motion components, bearings, motors, and standard mechanical components.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
