Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a global team as an individual contributor. You will develop sensor solutions from concept through production, applying rigorous GD&T, tolerance analysis, and 3D modeling to deliver robust packaging designs.

Responsibilities include collaborating with cross‑functional teams, producing technical documentation, and driving DFMEA and DFx practices to improve the product line.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with mechanical packaging design including sheet metal, machine components, plastics and forming designs.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• 3D modeling and detailing with Pro/ENGINEER, Pro/INtralink or AutoCAD familiarity.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Work in a global team as an Individual contributor with significant responsibilities of Mechanical design. Perform mechanical design function on new product development teams defining customer requirements, developing and selecting best concepts, designs, and implementation into production of new sensor solutions.
• Work effectively with internal and external teams on Customer Needs, Concept, and Design of mechanical designs.
• Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation, and progress reporting. Expected to develop technical expertise in selected product line and develop proposals/growth ideas & work to improve the product line.

Qualifications

• B.E, B. Tech, M.E, or M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with mechanical packaging design inclusive of sheet metal, machine component design, plastics, and forming designs.

3–5 years of experience in mechanical design.

Skill Requirements

• Good hands‑on experience with Mechanical packaging Design which would include Sheet Metal, Machine component design, Plastics and Forming designs.
• Experience with GD&T and Tolerance Stack‑up Analysis.
• Expertise in 3D Modeling and Parametric Detailing, Family Tables, Pro/ENGINEER 2001, Pro/INtralink, AutoCAD skill is an added advantage.
• Understanding of different manufacturing processes such as metal parts machining, casting, sheet metal processes, plastic injection molding, joining methodologies (clamping, welding, brazing, soldering), and potting.
• Understanding of NPI/Product Development Life Cycle and Product Design skills with hands‑on experience on DFMEA, QFD and other Six Sigma tools.
• Good knowledge of material selection (engineering plastics, metals) and ability to conceptualize the product, translate requirements into CTQs while considering Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and DFx.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Familiarity with product data management tools and the ECR/ECN process.
