Job summary

Uno Minda Group in Haryana, India seeks a Staff-level engineer to lead tooling and supplier development for automotive projects. You will coordinate with NPC, design and PE teams to plan components and tooling, drive APQP/PPAP, and manage supplier quality initiatives.

The role requires strong experience in tooling, process capability, and new product launches, with exposure to ECN and supplier audits. On-site position in Bawal, Haryana.

Qualifications

• 8–11 years of tooling and component development in auto industry.
• Bachelors in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or TRTC/Cpet.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with NPC, Design & PE teams to plan new components and tooling for new projects.
• Lead supplier component issues, drive APQP/PPAP, and VA/VE efforts with customers and suppliers.
• Carry out supplier process audits and support APQP.
• Define process parameters with engineering to ensure supplier capability.
• Stay updated on manufacturing/engineering trends affecting product quality.
• Assist with new product launches by aligning suppliers to milestones.
• Implement ECN in regular BOP and ensure supplier process capability meets requirements.
• Oversee tool life consumption and recommend tool duplications/rework/reconditioning.
• Establish hit/miss ratings for supplier performance and identify improvements.
• Evaluate vendors for pricing and quality with minimum development lead time.
• Support investigations of major problems and foster supplier relationships.

Job Description

• '- Co-ordination with NPC, Design & PE Team to prepare plan for New Component & Tooling Development as per the new project requirements
• - Responsible for leading the solution for supplier component concerns, driving Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), customer interaction, supplier interaction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, supplier component development and approval and supplier cost improvements
• - Carry out new supplier validation audits (process audit), with supplier support and supplier Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
• - Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
• - Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality
• - Assist with new product launch by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved

- Responsible for the ECN implementation in regular BOP and ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements

- Overseeing detailed of Tool Life consumption, evaluate and make recommendation & implementation of Tool Duplication/Rework/Recondition based on Tool & Parts quality layout inspection.

'- Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of exiting supplier - Hit/Miss rating for first time & on time development and identifying ways to improve them.

- Evaluating current vendor management to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality with min development lead time.

- Ensure supplier SQDD performance as per budgeted target

'- Provide support during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain with regard to product development and procurement of parts

- Contribute to continuous improvement activities & provide technical expertise for solving technical problems associated with product supply and test facilities

' - Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles
