Job summary

Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited is seeking a Material Management Manager (Inventory Operations) based at the HKIA airport area. The role leads forecasting, provisioning and purchasing policies for aircraft spares, ensuring timely delivery and optimal stock levels, while coordinating with procurement and internal customers.

Fluency in English and Chinese is required. A minimum of ten years in aviation supply chain is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in aviation.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese.
• Good PC skills in Microsoft Office.
• Able to work independently and make logical judgments under pressure.

Position Description

What You'll Do

• Development and maintenance of forecasting, provisioning, purchasing policies for aircraft spares.
• Managing material planning function for commercial spares.
• Forecasting company requirements for material and spares, planning inventory, stock turn, off-shelf performance and controlling inventory expenditure within plan.
• Providing sufficient stock to reasonably satisfy production requirements and timely delivery of unavailable materials in accordance with the service levels with internal and external customers.
• Work with Procurement Department for sourcing, price control and vendor performance monitoring.
• Review and provide guidance to staff for customer requirement in parts handling with reference to contracted supply responsibility, GTI-C, customer GMM and / or any relevant documented requirement.
• Production and periodical review of Material Management Engineering Procedure Manual (EPM Volume 15) in consultation with immediate supervisor.
• Development and maintenance of computerized and manual systems and procedures.
• Nomination and development of training programs for inventory operations staff.
• Execute and monitor correction action resulting from quality audit by the Quality Department and other airworthiness authorities.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with customers and staff to generate new ideas and implement better ways of doing work. Create an atmosphere and motivate staff to participate in business improvement projects.

What You'll Need

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or relevant disciplines.
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, preferably in aviation industry.
• Excellent supply chain and purchasing knowledge.
• Excellent knowledge in sourcing process for aircraft parts.
• Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
• Good PC skills in Microsoft Office.
• Able to work independently and make logical judgment under pressure.
