Job summary

Thompsons HR Consulting Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru seeks an Application Support Engineer - Market Data on a contract basis (minimum 1 year). The role requires working in three rotating shifts (6 am–3 pm, 2 pm–11 pm, 10 pm–7 am IST) with weekends included in rotation and on-site from the office.

You will perform pre‑market checks, support both application functionality and data content, manage incidents, run books and FAQs for the helpdesk, and coordinate with end users and vendors until issues are

• 3+ years of relevant experience in market data support.
• Strong Windows troubleshooting and configuration skills.
• Experience with remote, international vendor collaboration.
• Good communication and presentation abilities.
• Fluency in English required.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Application Support Engineer - Market Data

Location: Bengaluru (Work from office only)

Position Type: Contract (Minimum 1 Year)

Working In 3 Different Shifts In Rotation

• 6 am IST - 3 pm IST (2:30-11:30 CET summer time)


• 2 pm IST - 11 pm IST (10:30-19:30 CET summer time)


• 10 pm IST - 7 am IST (18:30-3:30 CET summer time)

Working also on weekends with compensation days, also in rotation

Tasks

Perform pre-market checkout out critical applications and infrastructure.

Support both application functionality and data content; escape data content issues to vendors

and/or internal developers.

Run-books and FAQs, for helpdesk.

Manage incident management process for Market Data issues.

Manage engagement with end users/vendors and helpdesk until problem is resolved.

Skills And Experience We Are Looking For

Candidate should have relevant experience in the range of 3+ years.

Deep understanding of application configuration and troubleshooting, proficiency in Windows environment.

Devops Experience (GitHub, CI/CD Pipelines).

Experience of remote support (international), working with vendors for problem resolution.

Strong inter-personal and communication skills; making presentations to customer or client audiences or professional peers and working independently on problem solving.

Fluent in English

Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Powershell.

Preferred Qualifications

Application product support specialist for Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Datastream, Factset, etc

Deep understanding of application configuration and troubleshooting, experience of supporting market data or trading desktop applications.

Understanding of Linux environment.

Experience with vendor data distribution systems like TREP, Elektron, Activ,, etc.

Financial Industry experience - Understanding of capital markets, experience with multiple asset classes.
