Job summary

Marutee Design And Engineering Private Limited seeks an experienced design engineer to develop exterior body panels and a foldable cargo box for a four-wheel electric cargo vehicle. You will select materials, define thickness and joinery, and create 2D GD&T drawings to support manufacturing.

The role requires 5–8 years in automotive plastic/composite panel design, with a BE/BTech in Mechanical, Automobile or Plastics Engineering.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years experience in automotive plastic/composite panel design.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile or Plastics Engineering.
• Preference for load-body, container or trailer body design exposure.

Responsibilities

• Design exterior body panels and trims: roof, front, rear, mud and wheel-arch panels, headlight panel, mirror trims and charging port door.
• Select material and process per panel (PP, ABS, FRP, thermoformed sheet).
• Define wall thickness, draft, ribs, bosses, attachment to the cabin frame, gap and flush.
• Design mountings for head lamps, indicators, brake lamps, reflectors and cargo lamps.
• Design a ~1400 L cargo box with panel joinery and a foldable concept, targeting weight reduction; define quick-release attachment to the chassis.
• Develop a cargo box swapping trolley / jack concept (lift height, locking, operator effort); place decals.
• Produce 2D drawings with GD&T.
