Job summary

Marutee Design & Engineering Pvt. Ltd. seeks an Engineer – Manufacturing, DFM, Drawing Release & BOM with 5–8 years of experience in automotive fabrication and machining. You will own manufacturability, drawing quality and BOM across chassis, body and electrical systems.

The role involves performing DFM/DFA reviews, defining fabrication processes, specifying machining, standardising fasteners, and releasing drawings in the PDM system, collaborating with suppliers and prototype builds.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GD&T and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Run DFM/DFA reviews across chassis, body and electrical systems.
• Define aluminium frame fabrication and weld-fixture concepts.
• Specify machining for castings, hubs, axles and steering parts; confirm processes for plastics and cargo body.
• Standardise fasteners and clips across the vehicle.
• Maintain BOM (material, weight, responsibility); complete make/buy decisions and BOM release.
• Prepare part cost estimates and supplier RFQ packages.
• Check drawings for GD&T, weld symbols and model match; release drawings in PDM.

Position: Engineer – Manufacturing, DFM, Drawing Release & BOM

Experience: 5–8 years in manufacturing engineering for automotive fabrication and machining, with drawing checking, GD&T and BOM management

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering

About the role

Own manufacturability, drawing quality and bill of materials for a four-wheel electric cargo vehicle across chassis, body and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Run DFM/DFA reviews across chassis, body and electrical systems.
• Define aluminium frame fabrication (cutting, bending, TIG/MIG welding of 6061-T6, post-weld treatment) and develop weld-fixture concepts.
• Specify machining for castings, hubs, axles and steering parts; confirm processes for plastic panels, glazing and cargo body.
• Standardise fasteners, circlips and clips across the vehicle.
• Maintain the bill of materials (material, weight, responsibility); complete make/buy decisions and build the manufacturing BOM.
• Prepare part cost estimates and supplier RFQ packages.
• Check drawings for GD&T, weld symbols and model match; run tolerance stack-ups; release drawings in PDM.

Skills and tools

• Aluminium welding and fixtures; CNC machining; sheet metal, plastics and composite processes; should-costing; GD&T to ASME Y14.5; tolerance analysis.
• SolidWorks or CATIA V5 drafting; PDM release workflow; PFMEA.
• Preferred: experience supporting prototype builds for vehicle programmes.
