Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in India is seeking a dedicated assembler to support assembly and testing activities. The role emphasizes adherence to setup check sheets, proper tool calibration, and strict following of assembly instructions in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will efficiently plan work with safety in mind, maintain documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvements through Kaizen ideas and data-backed observations.

Qualifications

• Strong adherence to skill matrix and carrying out assembly/testing as per qualification.
• Excellent ability to operate power and hand tools.
• Commitment to documentation and product history records.
• Maintain 6S standards on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to start-up check sheet and plan work accordingly.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and fixtures are available, in use, and calibrated.
• Follow assembly instructions and routing card.
• Adhere to standard ERP hours for the assigned job.
• Raise rejection tags for any part deviations and communicate to supervisor.
• Develop solutions on basic and specific problems.
• Document assembly in product history/test reports and Kaizen ideas.

Adherence to safety by ensuring start-up check sheet.

• Adherence to job assigned by the supervisor & plan work accordingly.
• Ensuring the tools, equipment’s are available to carry out assigned job are in use & calibrated.
• Ensuring the jigs & fixtures are available to carry out assigned job are in use & calibrated.
• Strong adherence to skill matrix & carrying out assembly/testing as per qualification.
• Exhibiting strong skills in operation of power tools, hand tools.
• Carrying out assigned job as per the assembly instruction sheet & also should adhere routing card.
• Should carry out the assigned job as per the standard hours defined in ERP.
• Should rise the rejection tag in the event of having deviation in any of the parts during assembly & same should

be communicated to supervisor.

• Able to develop solutions on basic and specific problems
• Strong adherence to documentation process for every assembly thorugh product history card / test report.
• Responsible for continuous improvement of the process in line through raising kaizen ideas.
• Responsible for execution & closure of kaizen ideas to improve the current process.
• Good oral and written communication skills & Basic system knowledge
• Responsible for maintaining the 6S standards in shop floor.
