Job summary

Wabtec in India seeks a field service professional to plan and implement retrofits and maintenance at customer sites, coordinating with workshops, sheds and depots to ensure on-site product availability and adherence to contracts.

The role requires a BE/B Tech or Diploma in Engineering with 2–6 years of railway experience, strong safety focus, and hands-on ability to manage inventory, provide field feedback and achieve reliable operations.

Qualifications

• BE/B Tech or Diploma in Engineering required.
• 2–6 years of railway field experience preferred.
• Experience with field service and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Attend 5-minute daily site meeting with Site leader.
• Perform 2-minute safety warning at customer site daily.
• Execute all field operations (retrofit, overhaul, maintenance) to meet FT objectives.
• Use tools required during warranty attention and maintenance effectively.
• Ensure efficient use of site inventory for maintenance and overhaul.
• Provide field feedback to improve product reliability.
• Obtain customer sign-off with joint notes after maintenance.
• Oversee EHS at the site and ensure compliance.
• Maintain 5S at the customer site and report open points.

Job description

Key missions of the position:

• Planning and Implementation of all the retrofits/maintenance & overhauling of products at Customer site
• Align with customer out turn of Coaches or Locomotive in workshops, sheds & depots and secure maintenance of FT products as per the customer contract agreements
• Maintain Environment, health and safety at workplace at customer site as per Wabtec Standard
• Improve Customer response time
• Cost Effectiveness by improving efficiency during overhauling and maintenance.

Main responsibilities:

• Attend 5 Minutes Communication daily meeting with Site leader
• Every day follow 2 min Safety warning at customer site
• Execute all Field scheduled operations (retrofit, overhaul, maintenance etc.) in order to meet FT objectives and Customer requirements
• Have knowledge of special tools required during Warranty attention & maintenance and use them effectively .
• Ensure efficiently use of site inventory required for maintenance and overhaul
• Ensure feedback of field experience at all stages to improve reliability of the products
• Ensure to get signed off in the form of joint notes from customer immediately after performing maintenance .
• Responsible of EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) organization & deployment
• Maintain 5 S at work place at customer site
• Periodic reporting of the open points of Customer and follow ups till the action is closed.

Qualification

• Minimum BE/B Tech Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
• Minimum 2-6 years of experience
• Railway industries experience is preferrable
