Job summary

Wabtec in Mysore, India, is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to develop and maintain QA systems, plans and procedures for electrical, mechanical, and mechatronics products. You will perform incoming goods QC, FAI planning, and supplier quality management while coordinating with Product management.

The role requires hands-on QA experience, IPC/DIN knowledge, and the ability to train staff on QC tools to ensure zero defects and sustained product quality across production.

Qualifications

  • Diploma with 2+ years of QA/manufacturing/products experience.
  • BE with 3+ years in QA/manufacturing/products.
  • Special focus on electrical, electronics, mechatronics and mechanical items (60/40).
  • Experience in measuring mechanical and electrical components per drawings/specs.
  • Knowledge of standards, norms and tolerances (IPC, DIN).
  • ISO 9001 / IRIS awareness, ESD awareness.
  • Quality tools usage: 8D, FMEA, Control Plan, QC checks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain a Quality Assurance System for the business.
  • Create quality plans for products/parts per drawings/specifications.
  • Inspect incoming goods and perform first article inspections (FAI).
  • Maintain vendor quality ratings and perform supplier audits.
  • Analyze quality data and coordinate improvement actions.
  • Coordinate calibration/validation of measuring equipment.
  • Create and maintain TPM for machines/equipment.
  • Train stakeholders on quality parameters and importance to end product.

Key roles & responsibilities
Quality Assurance Task:
  • Developing, implementing and maintenance of a Quality Assurance System for the business
  • Create overall Quality plans for products/parts as per drawings / specifications.
  • Organization and execution of quality control of incoming goods; special inspection of incoming goods.
  • Organizing and executing first article inspections (FAI) with Product management.
  • Maintain vendor supply record and prepare quality rating for suppliers.
  • Conducting risk analysis, identify critical control points
  • Assuring high quality during production process.
  • Attending supplier's audits
  • Analysis and documentation of quality check results and coordination of improvement measures
  • Co-ordinating and executing the calibration/validation of all measuring and monitoring equipment through approved calibration service providers
  • Create and maintain TPM for the machines/equipment
  • Coordinating the special processes applicable in Production through trainings, qualification and audits.
  • Monitoring of work environment requirements applicable in Production (eg. ESD)
  • Training all relevant stakeholders on various quality parameters and its importance to end product as well as customer satisfaction.
Repair Task:
  • Analyzing and repair of returned goods from customers and internal teams.
  • Ensure the repaired products are meeting the quality standards in factory
  • Analysis of internal and external complaints with relation to products
  • Always aim of zero failures
  • Support to other departments with quality and process related queries
  • Communication and organization internally and with subsidiaries related to repair
  • Documentation of returned product with evaluation of risks and possible errors
Authorities
  • Inspection and approval of incoming good.
  • Issuing Replacement for failed products returned by customer within warranty period.
  • Qualification of special processes
  • Empowered to stop the process or product, if quality or product safety requirements are not met.
Qualification and required key skill sets
  • Diploma with 2+ years of working experience in QA, manufacturing or products
  • Bachelor of Engineering with 3+ years of working experience in QA, manufacturing or products
  • Special focus on electrical, electronics, mechatronics and mechanical items (experience/knowledge in electrical/electronics 60% and mechatronics/mechanical 40%)
  • Experience in measuring mechanical and electric components according to drawings/specifications
  • Knowledge of standards, norms and tolerances (IPC, DIN etc.,)
  • ISO 9001 / IRIS awareness
  • ESD awareness
  • Quality awareness (Usage of QC tools, 8D, FMEA, Control plan etc.,)
