Job summary

UNO MINDA Hosur seeks an experienced Manufacturing Head to lead its 2W Lighting Division's plant operations, driving performance, quality, and cost optimization across assembly, surface treatment, and moulding.

You will guide production planning, lean initiatives, and NPI readiness while ensuring safety and adherence to standards, collaborating with PPC, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to meet delivery targets and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 15-18 years of manufacturing experience in Auto Components.
• Strong exposure to Assembly Operations, Surface Treatment Processes, Plastic Moulding.
• Experience in handling large manufacturing teams and plant operations.
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, productivity improvement, and shop-floor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations for the plant.
• Ensure production achievement as per plan and customer requirements.
• Drive operational excellence across Assembly, Surface Treatment, Moulding and related processes.
• Improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
• Ensure adherence to manufacturing processes, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with PPC, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to meet delivery targets.
• Lead manpower planning, capability building, and team development initiatives.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Productivity Improvement, and Continuous Improvement projects.
• Conduct regular Gemba reviews and monitor shop-floor performance.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), trials, SOP readiness, and manufacturing stabilization activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical, Industrial, Electronics, or related engineering discipline.

Experience

• 15-18 years of manufacturing experience in the Auto Component industry.
• Strong exposure to:

• Plastic Moulding
• Overall Production Management
• Experience in handling large manufacturing teams and plant operations.
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, productivity improvement, and shop-floor management.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience in Automotive Lighting Manufacturing will be highly preferred.
