Job summary

Amor Management Consultants seeks a seasoned Operations Leader to head end-to-end manufacturing for automotive cables and wiring harnesses in Chennai. The role requires 15+ years of plant operations experience and a proven track in leading Lean, TPM, 5S and continuous improvement to meet production, quality and cost targets.

You will guide cross-functional teams, optimize capacity, and drive safety and regulatory compliance while delivering sustained performance improvements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant manufacturing/plant operations experience.
• Experience in automotive cable and wiring harness manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operations covering Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores and related plant functions.
• Drive manufacturing operations for automotive cables and wiring harnesses, ensuring production, quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Manage overall plant performance, capacity utilization, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction, waste elimination, process improvement and productivity enhancement.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, customer requirements, safety and statutory compliance.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, TPM, 5S and operational excellence initiatives.
• Plan and optimize manpower, machines, materials and production capacity in line with business requirements.
• Work closely with Sales, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality teams to ensure smooth customer deliveries.
• Manage and develop senior plant/functional teams and build a strong performance-driven culture.
• Monitor KPIs including OEE, productivity, rejection, PPM, OTIF, inventory, cost and downtime.
• Drive new product launches, capacity expansion and process improvement initiatives.
• Take complete ownership of overall operations and business performance of the manufacturing facility.

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production or related engineering discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing/plant operations, preferably in Automotive Cable, Wiring Harness.
• Strong experience in plant management and overall operations leadership.
