Job summary

Lumax Industries is seeking an experienced Production & Process Leader in Gujarat to oversee injection molding floor operations, optimize machine cycles, manage high-clarity polymers such as PC, PMMA, and ABS, and minimize material waste.

The role requires 15+ years in injection molding management, with a focus on lighting applications. You will lead a skilled team, ensure EHS compliance, and drive NPD trials and manufacturability feedback for new lighting molds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Plastics Technology, Polymer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in injection molding management, preferably in lighting/auto lighting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Injection molding production schedules to hit yield and efficiency targets.
• Set and refine machine parameters to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Supervise processing of engineered polymers like PC, PMMA, and ABS.
• Implement strategies to systematically reduce scrap, regrind usage, and raw material waste.
• Eliminate aesthetic defects and ensure optical quality of molded lenses/diffusers.
• Audit cleanroom and floor standards to comply with ISO 9001 and regulations.
• Coordinate quick mold setups and changes for high-polish multi-cavity tools.
• Partner with engineering to minimize breakdowns and manage spare parts inventory.
• Lead trial runs for new lighting molds and provide manufacturability feedback (DFM).
• Lead shift supervisors, mold setters, and machine operators; enforce safety culture.

Role & responsibilities

1. Production & Process Optimization

• Manage Floor Operations: Oversee Injection molding production schedules to hit yield and efficiency targets.
• Optimize Machine Cycles: Set and refine machine parameters to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Material Management: Supervise the processing of engineered, high-clarity polymers like Polycarbonate (PC), PMMA (Acrylic), and ABS.
• Minimize Waste: Implement strategies to systematically reduce scrap, regrind usage, and raw material waste.

2. Quality Control & Optical Standards

• Enforce Defect Troubleshooting: Eliminate aesthetic flaws such as silver streaks, burn marks, weld lines, and bubbles.
• Maintain Optical Integrity: Ensure molded lenses and diffusers meet rigorous light transmittance, clarity, and yellowing resistance standards.
• Audit Compliance: Maintain a cleanroom environment or strict floor standards compliant with ISO 9001 and environmental regulations.

3. Tooling & Equipment Maintenance

• Oversee Tooling Changes: Coordinate quick, safe mold setups and changes specifically for high-polish multi-cavity tools.
• Manage Preventive Maintenance: Partner with engineering teams to minimize machine breakdowns and handle spare parts inventory.
• Support New Product Development (NPD): Lead trial runs for new lighting molds and provide design feedback for manufacturability (DFM).

4. Leadership & Safety

• Lead Teams: Supervise, schedule, and train shift supervisors, mold setters, and machine operators.
• Enforce Safety Culture: Maintain strict adherence to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) and workplace safety protocols.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Plastics Technology, Polymer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 15+ years of experience in injection molding management, preferably within the lighting, automotive lighting.
