Job summary

The role requires ensuring safety, 5S, and proper PPE usage, while guiding operators and coordinating with Warehouse, Maintenance, and other departments to meet targets and schedules.

Job Description Manufacturing Executive

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Manufacturing Executive to manage and monitor bulk manufacturing operations and ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production activities. The candidate will be responsible for executing production plans, maintaining quality and GMP standards, ensuring proper documentation, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets on time.

Key Responsibilities

Bulk Manufacturing Operations

• Execute and monitor bulk manufacturing processes including raw material handling, weighing, mixing, blending, and batch preparation as per approved formulas, SOPs, and manufacturing instructions.
• Ensure production targets and batch schedules are achieved within the planned timelines.
• Optimize manpower, materials, equipment, and other production resources for efficient operations.
• Monitor manufacturing activities and ensure proper process controls are followed throughout the batch.

Quality Checks & Process Monitoring

• Supervise and perform in-process quality checks such as appearance, viscosity, pH, and other applicable standard parameters.
• Coordinate with QC/QA teams for sampling, testing, and release of materials/products.
• Ensure products are manufactured according to approved specifications and established quality standards.
• Immediately report any abnormality, deviation, or out-of-specification observation to the Production Manager and relevant QA/QC personnel.

Documentation & GMP Compliance

• Maintain accurate and complete Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), production logbooks, check sheets, equipment records, and daily production reports.
• Ensure all manufacturing activities are documented accurately and in compliance with GMP requirements and company procedures.
• Review production documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure proper traceability of raw materials, batches, and manufacturing activities.

Safety, Hygiene & 5S

• Follow and enforce safety procedures, GMP practices, hygiene standards, and 5S within the manufacturing area.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of raw materials, chemicals, and manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitization, and hygiene of the production area and equipment.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is used by personnel working in the manufacturing area.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards and unsafe practices.

Coordination & Process Control

• Coordinate closely with Warehouse, QC, QA, Maintenance, and other supporting departments for smooth production operations.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, and other production requirements.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance team for equipment breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and process-related issues.
• Monitor equipment and process performance and report abnormalities promptly.
• Support investigation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), where required.

Team & Production Management

• Supervise operators and production staff during manufacturing activities.
• Allocate manpower according to production requirements and batch schedules.
• Provide guidance to operators on SOPs, safety, GMP, hygiene, and proper manufacturing practices.
• Ensure production activities are completed efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Life Sciences or related discipline.
• B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or related field.
• M.Sc. in Chemistry / Biochemistry / related discipline will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with other relevant Science / Biochemistry / Chemical / Biotechnology qualifications may also be considered based on relevant industry experience.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Production / Manufacturing operations.
• Experience in bulk manufacturing, batch processing, weighing, mixing, blending, and material handling will be preferred.
• Candidates with experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments will be preferred.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of GMP, SOPs, 5S, safety, and manufacturing practices.
• Understanding of batch manufacturing processes and production documentation.
• Good knowledge of basic in-process quality parameters such as pH, viscosity, appearance, etc.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to manage production activities and meet batch schedules.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and production documentation systems.
