Job summary

Manipal Specialty Chemicals Private Limited in Mumbai seeks an experienced Production Planning and Warehouse Leader to drive end-to-end production scheduling, contract manufacturing management, and warehouse operations. You will coordinate with QA/QC, R&D and supply chain, enforce EHS standards, and push continuous improvement through KPI tracking and MIS reporting.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in specialty chemicals or emulsion products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP/ERP and inventory control.
  • Proven ability to lead warehouse operations and 3PL/contract warehouses.
  • Experience implementing EHS compliance and safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production schedules to optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage production activities with contract manufacturers to meet output and quality.
  • Enforce quality control standards and coordinate with R&D for COA.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and conduct regular safety training.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare production reports and maintain records of inventory and material usage.
  • Plan and manage warehouse operations, lead 3PL/contract warehouse performance.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, QA/QC, R&D and Sales to ensure material availability.

Job description

Key Responsibilities


1. Production Planning:

  • Collaborate with the production planning department to develop and implement production schedules, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.

2. Production Management:

  • Managing production activities through contract manufacturing partners to ensure planned output, quality, cost efficiency, timely delivery, and adherence to agreed production schedules and specifications.

3. Quality Control:

  • Enforce and maintain quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Implement measures to identify and rectify any deviations from quality standards.
  • To ensure quality check of every batch and share it with R&D team for COA preparation

4. Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for production staff.

5. Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to implement changes and optimize production workflows.

6. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare regular production reports detailing key performance indicators, production outputs, and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including inventory levels and raw material usage.

7. Warehousing Management

  • Strategically plan and manage warehouse operations to ensure optimum utilisation of space, manpower, infrastructure and resources.
  • Lead and monitor 3PL/contract warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to agreed SLAs, service levels, cost and operational standards.
  • Establish and monitor inventory control systems, including stock accuracy, batch traceability, FIFO/FEFO, ageing and reconciliation.
  • Develop warehouse capacity and infrastructure plans in line with business growth, inventory levels and future requirements.
  • Drive cost optimisation through efficient space utilisation, manpower planning, inventory movement and logistics management.
  • Ensure effective coordination with Procurement, Production, Quality, Sales, Finance and Logistics for uninterrupted material availability and dispatch.
  • Monitor inventory ageing, slow-moving/obsolete stocks, material losses and discrepancies, and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, statutory, quality and internal control requirements across warehouse operations.
  • Lead warehouse audits, stock verification and reconciliation, ensuring timely closure of identified gaps.
  • Manage and develop warehouse teams, including performance management, capability building and resource planning.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, inventory, safety and supply-chain risks associated with warehousing activities.

Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Production or related discipline.
