Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru seeks a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Process Planning, NPI and Aerospace Quality Systems. You will interpret drawings, develop process plans and lead NPI readiness activities, including APQP/PPAP and SPC, while coordinating with Design, Quality and Supply Chain teams.

The role involves enhancing Lean initiatives, supporting MES and ERP integrations, and maintaining quality documentation for aerospace components. Immediate joining is preferred.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in aerospace quality systems and APQP/PPAP processes preferred.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, ERP and MES integrations on shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and specifications.
• Develop and maintain process plans, routings and work instructions.
• Configure and support MES, digital work instructions and data flow.
• Lead NPI activities including APQP, PPAP, FAIR and SPC.
• Develop Quality/Inspection Plans and monitor KPIs on the shop floor.
• Investigate non-conformances using RCA methodologies and 8D, 5-Why.
• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams.
• Drive Lean, continuous improvement and Cp/Cpk enhancements.
• Maintain manufacturing docs and quality records; support production readiness.

Job description

We are looking for Manufacturing Engineering – Process Planning, NPI & Aerospace Quality Systems

Experience: 3-12 years

Available for immediate joining.

• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans, routings and work instructions.
• Configure and support MES systems, digital work instructions and Engineering-to-Manufacturing data flow.
• Implement engineering changes including ECN, BOM updates, process modifications and source transfer projects.
• Lead and support NPI activities including APQP, PPAP, FAIR, SPC, MSA, process validation, qualification, and production readiness reviews.
• Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, and Inspection Plans.
• Support production operations, resolve shop floor issues and monitor manufacturing KPIs.
• Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using RCA 8D, and 5-Why methodologies.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Zero-Defect initiatives, and process capability enhancement (Cp/Cpk).
• Maintain manufacturing documentation and quality records
• BE in Mechanical Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Expertise in precision machined aerospace components made from Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum alloys.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, aerospace standards, and customer quality requirements.
• Lead NPI, Industrialization, Production Transfer and Manufacturing Readiness activities.
• Support integration and utilization of CAD, PLM, ERP, and MES systems across manufacturing operations.
• Drive Industry 4.0 and shop floor digitization initiatives.
• Develop and monitor manufacturing KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Conduct manufacturing capability assessments and support supplier industrialization and development.
• Hands-on experience with Teamcenter, MES applications, and Net-Inspect.
• Strong proficiency in Advanced Excel, data analysis and performance reporting.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and problem-solving methodologies.
