Job summary

TCS IAE in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for process planning, NPI and aerospace quality systems. You will interpret drawings, develop routings, and support MES integration to enable production readiness.

With 3–12 years in mechanical manufacturing, you will coordinate with Design, Quality and Supply Chain, drive Lean initiatives, and ensure robust documentation and KPIs.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering with process planning and NPI is needed.
• Certificates include SAP ME/ERP, Teamcenter, NX, Net-Inspect, Power BI, VBA.
• Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP, GD&T, and MT&E documentation is expected.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements and specifications.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans, routings and work instructions.
• Configure and support MES systems, digital work instructions and data flow.
• Implement engineering changes including ECN, BOM updates and process modifications.
• Lead and support NPI activities including APQP, PPAP, FAIR, SPC, MSA and production readiness reviews.
• Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans and Inspection Plans.
• Support production operations, resolve shop floor issues and monitor KPIs.
• Investigate non-conformances using RCA 8D and 5-Why methodologies.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement including Cp/Cpk enhancements.

Must Have Skills:

• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans, routings and work instructions.
• Configure and support MES systems, digital work instructions and Engineering-to-Manufacturing data flow.
• Implement engineering changes including ECN, BOM updates, process modifications and source transfer projects.
• Lead and support NPI activities including APQP, PPAP, FAIR, SPC, MSA, process validation, qualification, and production readiness reviews.
• Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, and Inspection Plans.
• Support production operations, resolve shop floor issues and monitor manufacturing KPIs.
• Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using RCA 8D, and 5-Why methodologies.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Zero-Defect initiatives, and process capability enhancement (Cp/Cpk).

Good to have Skills

• Expertise in precision machined aerospace components made from Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum alloys.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, aerospace standards, and customer quality requirements.
• Lead NPI, Industrialization, Production Transfer and Manufacturing Readiness activities.
• Support integration and utilization of CAD, PLM, ERP, and MES systems across manufacturing operations.
• Drive Industry 4.0 and shop floor digitization initiatives.
• Develop and monitor manufacturing KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Conduct manufacturing capability assessments and support supplier industrialization and development.
• Hands-on experience with Teamcenter, MES applications, and Net-Inspect.
• Strong proficiency in Advanced Excel, data analysis and performance reporting.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and problem-solving methodologies.
