Job summary

ePlane Company in Chennai, India, seeks a senior Manufacturing Engineer — Supply chain engineering to drive MBOM creation for metallic detail parts and tooling for prototype eVTOL frames. You will coordinate with SCM, SQA and suppliers to meet delivery commitments and maintain BOMs and manufacturing plans.

Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure design requirements flow to suppliers, and ensure compliance with internal processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP & PLM systems for manufacturing
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and GD&T
  • Understanding of material selection and processing
  • Experience with aircraft assembly processes and integration

Responsibilities

  • Develops Manufacturing Bill of Materials & SOW and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments with SCM, SQA & Suppliers.
  • Reviews and maintains supplier manufacturing plans, BOMs, work instructions and drawings for metallic parts and tooling.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure design requirements flow to suppliers.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with internal processes; verify process/product baselines.
  • Lead design reviews and audits at product and subsystem levels.
  • Contribute to configuration and data management standards and tools.
  • Define allocation of CM data requirements for hardware, software and design data throughout lifecycle.
  • Coordinate integration of product elements and resolve issues in product structure.
  • Develop and implement engineering program plans across multiple functions.
  • Develop and integrate suppliers, processes, materials and data to meet manufacturing and regulatory needs.
  • Develop tooling requirements from manufacturing/engineering needs.
  • Manage part and tool development from design to end-of-life disposition.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues at supplier end.
  • Perform productivity assessments for part/tool designs at concept stage.
  • Provide productivity input to design and processes to meet cost and schedule.
  • Support NPI, continuous improvement and lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint/Google Suite & PLM.
  • Adhere to timelines and budgets and ensure output quality.
  • Basic knowledge of cost estimation and time study.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma; QMS, QC tools & Metrology; GD&T, fits & assembly

Asa Mid senior Level Manufacturing engineer - Supply chain engineering, you willbe responsible for MBOM creation, providing technical inputs to SCM for Makeitems for metallic detail parts & tooling outsourced for eVTOL airframesprototype manufacturing & assembly integration. The candidate will beresponsible for interacting with vendors and cross functional teams in realizationof metallic detail parts & tooling.

Roles& responsibilities
  • Develops Manufacturing Bill of materials &Condition of supply (SOW) and sequencing of events to support deliverycommitments with SCM , SQA & Suppliers.
  • Reviewsand maintains various suppliers’manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions andillustrations to define and document as-built configuration for metallicparts, tooling outsourced to vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal andexternal organizations to ensure Design requirements have been flowed downand incorporated at our suppliers and partners.
  • Ensure that our suppliers andpartners are compliant with their internal processes. Collaborates withteams in the development, analysis, management and compliance verificationof process and product baselines of complex products.
  • Defines, plans, coordinates andconducts product and subsystem level technical design reviews and auditsfor new and derivative products.
  • Contributes to the developmentand implementation of Configuration and Data Management standards,processes and tools.
  • Defines and allocatesConfiguration and Data Management requirements for product hardware,software and engineering design data systems throughout the productlifecycle.
  • Coordinates the integration ofproduct elements and analyzes & resolves issues with engineeringproduct structure.
  • Develops, integrates andimplements engineering technical program plans including impacts, risksand incorporation of lessons learned spanning multiple engineeringfunctions.
  • Develops and integratessuppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturingand delivery requirements & regulatory agency requirements.
  • Develops tooling requirementsbased on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Manages part development &tools development from initial design to end of use disposition.
  • Investigates and resolvesmanufacturing related issues (Supplier EQNs) at supplier end.
  • Performs productivityassessments for part or product designs at concept design stage of parts& tooling for aircraft.
