Failure Analysis / Root cause Analysis
- Perform the failure analysis with different problem-solving approaches. - RCA,8D, A3, QC story, DMAIC
- Identifies root cause using problem solving tools such as Brainstorming, Fishbone & Why-Why Scatter plot,
5W 2H, Pareto chart
- Perform Design of Experiments (DoE) to validate root causes and optimize machine and process parameters
for sustained corrective actions.
- Analyse failures related to automation machine architecture, including mechanical, electrical, Software,
Vision and Robot
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare clear and structured Failure Analysis (FA) reports, ensuring proper documentation of problem
statements, root causes, corrective actions, validations, and closure status.
- Perform basic statistical and trend analysis to identify recurring issues, monitor effectiveness of actions, and
support data-driven decisions.
- Perform process capability studies (Cp/Cpk) to assess machine and process stability, validate corrective
actions, and ensure compliance with customer specification requirements.
- Reviews & Meeting
- Participate in reviews & meeting with internal team and customer
- Present the FA findings, action plans, and validation results.
- SOPs, Lessons Learned & Documentation
- Capture lessons learned from qualification failures and ensured deployment across the Similar machines and
Future projects.
- Provide feedback to Design, Software, vision, Robot and Assembly teams for continuous improvement.
- Update or create SOPs, test procedures, and best practices to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure traceability of all qualification-related issues, actions, and approvals.
- Machine Qualification
- Participate in machine design and build reviews to identify potential failure modes affecting performance,
safety, and product quality.
- Analyse failures related to machine functions & process sequences during LBU
- Identify root causes for the deviations from the expected performance.
- Validate machine performance consistency in stress run
Knowledge
- Knowledge on Problem Solving approaches (RCA,8D, A3, QC story, DMAIC & FMEA)
- Knowledge on Problem Solving techniques (Brainstorming, Fishbone, 5 why Analysis, Box plot, Scatter plot, 5W 2H, Pareto chart)
- Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) for root cause validation and process/machine parameter optimization
- Knowledge of process capability analysis using Cp and Cpk to assess machine and process performance against specifications.
- FA report structure and presentation requirements
- Basic statistical and trend analysis knowledge
- Lessons learned and knowledge-sharing mechanisms
- Hands on experience in FATP & MLB Automation machines
- Process knowledge on FATP and MLB assembly line
