Job summary

Shavish Group is seeking a Deputy Engineering Manager (Manufacturing & Industrialisation) to lead end-to-end industrialisation, standardisation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. The role focuses on efficient process design, optimal resource use, and lean implementation to drive operational excellence and cost savings across the business unit.

You will oversee the transition from development to serial production, drive cycle time reductions, and champion safety and quality

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in industrial engineering methodologies.
  • Lean manufacturing systems implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of tooling and fixture design.
  • Knowledge of special manufacturing processes.
  • Line balancing and plant layout optimisation.
  • ISO 9001:2015 and QHSE system awareness.
  • ERP SAP familiarity.
  • AutoCAD/Engineering design software knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Govern the design, validation and continuous optimisation of manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, repeatability and scalability.
  • Lead industrialisation of new products, ensuring structured transition from development to serial production.
  • Lead time, motion studies, capacity analysis and cycle time optimisation to improve productivity and labour efficiency.
  • Implement and govern Lean methodologies including 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, single-piece flow and cell manufacturing.
  • Design and optimise plant layouts to improve material flow, safety and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee design and validation of jigs, fixtures, gauges, and special process tooling; ensure qualification and validation prior to production.
  • Apply Value Engineering/Value Analysis to reduce manufacturing costs while preserving quality and performance.
  • Develop and qualify suppliers for tooling, fixtures, consumables and process-support equipment; ensure supplier capability aligns with requirements.
