Job summary

Global Reclaim Rubber is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve rubber product manufacturing, tyres and tubes. You will work with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Process teams to ensure production targets, product quality and efficient use of manpower, machines and materials.

The role involves monitoring day-to-day activities, optimizing processes, reducing losses and ensuring adherence to SOPs while promoting 5S, Kaizen and TPM practices in a busy plant environment.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
• Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or TPM will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Excel production reporting and data analysis.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• Communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts if required.
• Freshers with technical fundamentals are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and monitoring day-to-day manufacturing and production activities.
• Monitor production and ensure compliance with defined SOPs and work instructions.
• Support improvement of productivity, process efficiency and machine utilization.
• Identify production losses, bottlenecks, defects and process deviations and assist in implementing actions.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Monitor important process parameters during rubber and tyre/tube manufacturing.
• Assist in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain production records, process reports and manufacturing documentation.
• Support implementation of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and TPM practices.
• Ensure handling and utilisation of raw materials and minimise process wastage.
• Assist in monitoring machine performance and reporting breakdowns or abnormalities to the Maintenance team.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental procedures.
• Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring production and quality problems.
• Support trials of materials, processes, tooling or product improvements.
• Ensure production activities are carried out according to quality and production targets.
