Job summary

Plant Lipids in India is seeking a production operator to operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery, ensuring smooth manufacturing operations. You will set up, start, adjust, and shut down machines per SOPs and follow daily and shift production targets.

You will inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, record data, report issues, handle materials safely, and maintain a clean work area. Safety compliance and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engg or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, processing, packaging, or industrial operations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of machine operation, production processes, and quality control practices.
• Familiarity with safety standards and industrial best practices.
• Ability to read and understand production instructions, work orders, and operating procedures.
• Basic computer skills and experience in production data entry or ERP systems will be an advantage.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery and equipment to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
• Set up, start, adjust, and shut down machines as per production requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Follow production schedules and achieve daily and shift-wise production targets.
• Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure quality standards are met.
• Record production data, quality checks, downtime details, and shift reports accurately.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, and process deviations to supervisors.
• Handle raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements, including the use of appropriate PPE.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure the work area remains clean and organized.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance activities and support maintenance teams during equipment servicing and breakdowns.
• Work collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams to achieve operational goals.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support training activities when required.
