Position Overview

The Manager - Warehouse Operations will be responsible for managing the day-to-day warehouse operations and ensuring the smooth movement of automotive parts from inward to storage and outward dispatch. The role will focus on stock accuracy, timely order processing, proper warehouse practices, team management and coordination with other functions.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
  • Manage the complete day-to-day warehouse operations.
  • Ensure smooth inward, storage, picking, packing and outward movement of automotive parts.
  • Ensure customer orders are processed and dispatched within the required timelines.
  • Ensure parts are stored properly and can be easily identified and located.
  • Maintain proper warehouse discipline, cleanliness and organisation.
  • Ensure warehouse processes are followed by the team.
Inward Operations
  • Oversee receipt of automotive parts from suppliers and other locations.
  • Ensure received parts are checked against purchase orders and delivery documents.
  • Verify quantities, part numbers and condition of received parts.
  • Ensure shortages, excess quantities and damaged parts are identified and reported.
  • Coordinate with Procurement on discrepancies and pending supplies.
  • Ensure inward transactions are recorded accurately.
Outward & Order Fulfilment
  • Ensure customer orders are picked and dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Ensure part numbers, quantities and customer details are checked before dispatch.
  • Coordinate with Sales and delivery teams for timely order fulfilment.
  • Monitor pending and delayed dispatches.
  • Ensure proper packing of parts to avoid damage during transportation.
  • Ensure returned or undelivered parts are properly received and recorded.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate physical and system stock.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts.
  • Identify and resolve stock differences.
  • Monitor slow-moving, excess, damaged and obsolete stock.
  • Ensure proper storage and location of all parts.
  • Work with Procurement and other teams to highlight stock shortages and availability issues.
  • Reduce stock losses, damage and errors through proper warehouse controls.
Team Management
  • Lead and manage the warehouse team.
  • Allocate daily work and responsibilities to team members.
  • Monitor team productivity and work quality.
  • Train team members on warehouse processes and safe handling of parts.
  • Ensure proper attendance, discipline and work practices.
  • Identify performance issues and take corrective action.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of warehouse staff when required.
Process & Control
  • Ensure proper documentation for all inward and outward movements.
  • Maintain controls to prevent stock loss, wrong dispatches and inventory errors.
  • Identify gaps in warehouse processes and suggest practical improvements.
  • Ensure proper handling and segregation of damaged, returned and rejected parts.
  • Support internal and external stock audits.
  • Ensure audit observations related to warehouse operations are addressed.
Coordination & Reporting
  • Coordinate with Procurement regarding incoming stock and supplier deliveries.
  • Coordinate with Sales regarding customer orders and dispatch requirements.
  • Coordinate with Accounts regarding invoices, stock-related documents and other requirements.
  • Work with delivery partners to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
  • Prepare and share regular warehouse and inventory reports.
  • Escalate major stock, operational and customer-related issues to the reporting manager.
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Qualification in logistics, supply chain or warehouse management will be an advantage.
Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Experience managing a warehouse team is required.
  • Experience handling high-volume inward and outward operations will be preferred.
Industry Experience
  • Experience in the Passenger Car Aftermarket Industry will be preferred.
  • Experience handling automobile spare parts is strongly preferred.
