Job summary

Apollo Tyres Ltd in Chennai is seeking a Manager - Uniformity to lead the establishment of tyre uniformity yields for new products and sustain performance across production lines. The role reports to the Divisional Head - PCR Technology within Plant Technology (PCR).

You will prepare machine setup, certify equipment, track trends, and drive corrective actions, trials, and training to support BU improvements in uniformity and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• B.E or B.Tech in Rubber/Polymer/Mechanical
• 12–15 years of relevant experience in tyre uniformity or related processes
• Knowledge of equipment calibration, QA and process improvement

Responsibilities

• Prepare MSS/IPS/Setup parameters
• Certify uniformity machine for reliability
• Establish new equipment for uniformity checking
• Track uniformity trends and initiate corrective actions
• Initiate product and equipment improvement activities
• Provide knowledge-based support to BUs for uniformity improvement
• Track process deviations and support corrective actions
• Coordinate uniformity improvement trials across production processes
• Support calibration studies, tooling studies and LFD checks
• Coordinate periodic repeatability studies in TU machines
• Provide support for troubleshooting, efficiency improvements and scrap reduction
• Coordinate cycle time reduction projects
• Provide training to team members
• Prepare secondary control plans and work instructions

Reports to (Position): Divisional Head - PCR Technology

Department/Function: Plant Technology (PCR)

Purpose of the Job: Responsible for establishment of tyre uniformity yields as per targets for the new products
Co-ordination for sustenance of Uniformity yields.
Process tuning for improvement of tyre uniformity values and reduction of standard deviation
Provide knowledge based support for trouble shooting and improvement.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Prepare MSS/IPS/Setup parameters
