Job summary

Morepen Laboratories seeks an experienced Manager Training to design, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs across its retail pharmacy network. The role aims to enhance pharmacist knowledge, customer service standards, regulatory compliance, and overall business performance through targeted learning interventions.

You will develop curricula for Pharmacists, Store Managers, and frontline staff, oversee onboarding, and measure training impact using assessments and dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required with strong domain knowledge in pharma retail.
  • MBA/PGDM in HR, Learning & Development or related field advantageous.
  • 6–10 years of experience in Training & Development within pharma retail or healthcare retail.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement training calendars aligned with organizational goals.
  • Deliver induction, functional, behavioral, and leadership programs for retail pharmacy teams.
  • Create learning pathways for Pharmacists, Store Managers, Area Managers and frontline staff.
  • Ensure onboarding and certification of new hires across multiple locations.
  • Train on product categories, therapy areas, and patient counseling.
  • Drive compliance, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in learning programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and external experts for learning initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor training executives and field trainers.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Manager Training will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs across the retail pharmacy network. The role focuses on enhancing employee capability, improving customer service standards, strengthening product and therapy knowledge, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving business performance through effective learning interventions.

Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and implement training calendars aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Design and deliver induction, functional, behavioral, and leadership training programs for retail pharmacy employees.
  • Create learning pathways for Pharmacists, Store Managers, Area Managers, and Frontline Retail Staff.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and certification of new hires.
Retail Pharmacy Capability Building
  • Conduct training on pharmaceutical products, therapeutic categories, OTC products, prescription handling, and patient counseling.
  • Train employees on pharmacy operations, inventory management, dispensing processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive customer service excellence and patient engagement initiatives across stores.
  • Facilitate sales effectiveness and cross-selling/up-selling training programs.
Learning Content Development
  • Develop training modules, SOPs, e-learning content, training manuals, assessments, and knowledge repositories.
  • Continuously update training content based on new product launches, regulatory changes, and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external experts for specialized learning programs.
Performance & Compliance Management
  • Measure training effectiveness through assessments, certifications, mystery audits, and business performance metrics.
  • Monitor training compliance and ensure completion across all assigned regions.
  • Maintain training records, MIS reports, and learning dashboards.
  • Support quality audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with Operations, HR, Category, Medical Affairs, and Business Leaders to identify capability gaps.
  • Work closely with Regional and Store teams to implement learning interventions.
  • Manage relationships with external training vendors and content providers.
Team Development
  • Lead and mentor training executives and field trainers.
  • Build a high-performance learning culture across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) preferred.
  • MBA / PGDM in HR, Learning & Development, or related field will be an advantage.
Experience
  • 6-10 years of experience in Training & Development within Pharma Retail, Retail Pharmacy Chains, Healthcare Retail, or Pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and delivering training programs for frontline retail teams.
  • Experience working with large multi-location retail pharmacy operations is preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of retail pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical products.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Expertise in training need analysis, instructional design, and content development.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in LMS platforms, MS Office, and digital learning tools.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in training effectiveness measurement.

Experience with organizations such as Apollo Pharmacy, MedPlus, Wellness Forever, Tata 1mg, PharmEasy Retail, Guardian Pharmacy, or similar retail pharmacy businesses will be preferred.
