Job summary

Khyber Industries in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, seeks a Manager Stores to oversee inventory control of spares and consumables for plants. You will coordinate with Purchase, Stores and Inbound Logistics to ensure uninterrupted supply and optimal stock levels, while enforcing FIFO and 5S in the stores.

The role requires an MBA in supply chain management or operations with 10–12 years of inventory management experience and strong coordination skills across plant operations and ERP systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Designation: Manager Stores

Reports to: Chief Purchase, Stores and Inbound Logistics

Function: Purchase, Stores & Inbound Logistics

Purpose of the Job: This role is to ensure effective inventory management by monitoring inventory control systems to provide required supply of spares and consumables to plants.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory (Spares and Consumables) Management:

• Monitor inventory control systems and ensure adequate supply & requisite movement of spares and consumables.
• Interact, frequently with Purchase Department to ensure timely availability of spares material, equipment and consumables.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders to maintain inventory levels within the predefined minimum and maximum range.
• Oversee ongoing inventory especially critical spares/parts to provide the desired level of internal customer service.
• Communicate daily with internal stakeholders such as PPC, Plant operations to provide spares for O&M as per schedule.
• Convince critical internal stakeholders to provide requirements in time so that required support to deliver against timelines can be provided.
• Logging of cumulative inflow and outflow of spares and consumables.
• Reports spares and consumables inventory as per scheduled plans and highlights any critical demand.
• Interacts with Logistics to check availability and quality of the incoming raw material.

Stores Management Practices

• Insure First in first out (FIFO) in Inventory Management.
• Establish item wise min max levels & adhere the same and Maintaining system versus physical stock and 5S in store area.
• Training to workforce through meetings, training classes internally to monitor discipline, Continuous improvement and other systems in stores for better Results.
• Maximum utilization of resources (like men, machine, material) particularly space is very Vital resource in stores and good in housekeeping.
• Preparation of SOP's, Work instructions, check lists &charts for stores as per ISO 9001:2000 standard

Internal Coordination

• Coordinate with plant (maintenance & process team) for maintaining spares inventory at plant.
• Ensure adherence to minimum and maximum inventory levels in plant and follow up with delivery schedules.
• Handle key escalations from internal customers pertaining to quality of the delivered materials to enhance internal customer satisfaction

Logistics management

• Adhere to defined processes, systems and checks to ensure delivery of spares and consumables to consumption centers as per desired service levels.
• Ensure no line stoppages at plant because of spare availability.
• Participate in training to observe better operation practices.
• Ensuring TAT for receiving spare parts and materials remains within the defined limits.

Education:

MBA in supply chain management/operations management with 10-12 years of inventory management (Spares and consumables) experience.

Experience:

• Role requires in-depth knowledge of store operations so that spares can be provided in line with business demand.
• In-depth understanding of inventory management.
• Role requires knowledge of functioning of plants
