Job summary

Blue Star is seeking an experienced Inventory and Stores professional in Maharashtra to manage stock levels, ensure smooth material flow to production, and oversee receipt, storage, and issue processes. You will maintain FIFO, supervise scrap disposal, and ensure SAP entries are up to date.

The candidate should have Graduation plus MBA or PGD in Stores/Materials Management, with 4–8 years of experience in inventory control, vendor coordination, and MIS reporting, working with line supervisors

Qualifications

• Graduation + MBA or PGD in Stores Management / Materials Management from a good university.
• Experience in inventory control and stores management roles.

Responsibilities

• Control stocks and maintain inventory for smooth production line flow.
• Receive material, make system entries, issue materials to feeder shop.
• Manage scrap disposal and ensure FIFO in storage.
• Coordinate with transporters and line supervisors for material needs.

Responsibilities (Indicate Key Deliverables for this position)

• Inventory Control:
  • To control stocks, maintain inventory and ensure smooth flow of goods and materials to the production lines.
  • Receipt of material - physical receipt and make entry in system.
  • Maintain and issue material to feeder shop accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Managing and disposing the scrap periodically.
• Supervision & Evaluation:
  • Administer all aspects of material receipt, issuance and proper storage of material.
  • Supervising the quality, quantity & cost of the material received.
  • Supervise the activities of team engaged in receiving, storing and shipping goods or materials.
  • Check all inventory records and make evaluation reports & reconciliation of Stock.
  • Maintain FIFO system.
  • Shelf life balance product need to be stored appropriately.
• Internal & External Vendor Coordination:
  • Coordinating with transporters for dispatch of raw material.
  • To coordinate with line supervisors for timely requirement of material for production.
  • Timely disposal of Scrap.
• MIS, Review & Reports:
  • Takes Monthly, Half yearly and annual inventory and make report.
  • Prepare MIS / MRM for the representation of management.
  • Update daily inward & outward Stock in SAP.
  • Must know the GRN procedure.
  • Driving Continuous improvement and initiate CAP-Do process wherever KPI targets are not met.
• Safety:
  • Ensuring attending to the safety requirements of the plant.
  • Responsible to follow practice & processes as per ISO 45001 for their respective department.
