Job summary

Orient Cables is seeking an experienced procurement lead to manage and optimize end-to-end purchasing for cables and related inputs. You will plan procurement aligned with production, source qualified suppliers, and drive cost-saving through negotiations and vendor development.

The role requires strong ERP/MS Excel capabilities and cross-functional coordination with Stores, Quality, Production, Engineering and Finance.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. / MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Procurement.
• Strong understanding of cable manufacturing processes and raw materials.
• Experience in cable manufacturing or electrical industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Complete Procurement functions.
• Plan Procurement as per production requirements.
• Develop, Evaluate and manage vendors.
• Negotiate Pricing, Payment terms.
• Handle end-to-end procurement of cables RM, PM,CM & Machine Maintenance Electrical as per approved requirements.
• Source qualified suppliers, obtain quotations, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, negotiate prices and commercial terms, and release purchase orders.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables as per specifications, quantities, quality standards and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers, Stores, Quality, Production, Engineering, Maintenance and Finance for order execution, inspection, receipt, inventory and payment.
• Maintain supplier database, comparative statements, purchase records and procurement documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, pending orders and material delivery commitments.
• Drive vendor development, price benchmarking, alternate source development and cost-saving initiatives across cable procurement categories.
• Resolve supply, quality, specification and commercial issues with vendors and maintain proper follow-up.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• B.Tech / B.E. / MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Procurement
• Strong understanding of cable manufacturing processes and raw materials.
• Preferred Company / Industry Type: Cable manufacturing, electrical/electronic manufacturing, power/telecom/networking products, industrial procurement or related manufacturing sectors

Experience

8-10 years in procurement/purchase, preferably in cable manufacturing or electrical industry, with relevant experience in raw materials and indirect procurement.
