Job summary

Lauritz Knudsen Electrical & Automation (A unit of Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd.) in Mumbai seeks a Manager - Logistics to lead end-to-end logistics, transport, warehousing and distribution with a focus on cost efficiency and service excellence.

The role requires 7–10 years in logistics, a BE/B.Tech, and strong 3PL/4PL, GST compliance, and ERP/TMS/WMS skills. Relocation may be needed as per business needs.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of logistics experience.
• BE/B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical or Supply Chain.
• Experience in transportation management, vendor management, and cost optimization.
• Knowledge of GST, E-way bills and transport regulations.

Responsibilities

• Logistics Operations Management: manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensure timely and cost-effective transportation, monitor dispatch planning and route optimization, oversee 3PL/4PL performance.
• Warehouse & Distribution Coordination: coordinate with warehouse teams for inventory movement, ensure FIFO/FEFO and accurate inventory, manage multiple distribution centres and plants.
• Cost Optimization & Budget Control: analyze logistics costs, identify saving opportunities, prepare and manage budgets/forecasts.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management: build relationships with transporters/vendors, negotiate freight rates, collaborate with procurement/planning/sales/finance.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting: track KPIs (OTIF, transit time, cost per ton/km), generate MIS reports, drive continuous improvement.
• Compliance & Safety: ensure regulatory compliance (GST, transport laws), implement safety standards, manage audits/documentation.
• Technology & Systems: use ERP/TMS/WMS for planning/tracking, pursue digitalization and automation for visibility.

Location: Mumbai ( Candidate should be willing to relocate in future as per business need )

Reporting To: General Manager - Logistics

Role objective : To oversee and optimize end-to-end logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and last-mile delivery, ensuring cost efficiency, service excellence, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Operations Management

• Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
• Monitor daily dispatch planning, route optimization, and delivery schedules.
• Oversee 3PL/4PL service providers and transporter performance.

Warehouse & Distribution Coordination

• Coordinate with warehouse teams for inventory movement and dispatch readiness.
• Ensure adherence to FIFO/FEFO and inventory accuracy.
• Handle coordination between multiple distribution centres and plants.

Cost Optimization & Budget Control

• Analyse logistics costs (freight, warehousing, handling).
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency initiatives.
• Prepare and manage logistics budgets and forecasts.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with transporters, vendors, and logistics partners.
• Negotiate freight rates and service contracts.
• Collaborate with procurement, planning, sales, and finance teams.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Track KPIs such as OTIF (On Time in Full), transit time, cost per ton/km, and delivery accuracy.
• Generate MIS reports and dashboards for management review.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (transport laws, GST, E-way bills).
• Implement safety standards in logistics and transportation.
• Handle audits and documentation requirements.

Technology & Systems

• Use ERP/TMS/WMS systems for logistics planning and tracking.
• Drive digitalization and automation initiatives for better visibility and efficiency.
