Job summary

TÜV SÜD Group in Pune, India, is seeking an experienced engineer to support and grow our Industrial Products business by delivering technical services in ATEX, SIL/Functional Safety, Machinery Safety, CE Marking, and risk assessment. You will manage client projects, perform regulatory assessments, and guide customers through compliance processes.

The role requires a strong background in industrial product compliance, machinery safety, and CE certification, with hands-on experience in FMEA,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering or related field.
• Experience in industrial product compliance, machinery safety, functional safety, testing, inspection or certification.
• Strong knowledge of ATEX directives, IECEx, and Machinery Directives.
• Hands-on risk assessment, CE marking, and technical documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical services in ATEX, SIL/Functional Safety, Machinery Safety, CE Marking and risk assessment.
• Support testing, inspection, certification and compliance services for industrial products.
• Prepare technical proposals and identify applicable standards and testing requirements.
• Provide guidance to clients on regulatory compliance and approvals.
• Conduct machinery risk assessments per EN ISO 12100 and EN ISO 13849-1.
• Perform FMEA, SISTEMA assessments, and CE marking validation.
• Handle DoC and ATEX documentation and Declarations of Conformity.
• Conduct on-site EMC testing, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
• Support SIL 2/3 certification projects and manage project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting and growing the Industrial Products business by delivering technical services in ATEX, SIL/Functional Safety, Machinery Safety, CE Marking, Risk Assessment, and product compliance, while ensuring effective project execution, client support, and achievement of revenue targets.
• Support and grow business for testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services related to industrial products/components.
• Prepare technical proposals/quotations and identify applicable standards, directives, and testing requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to clients on ATEX, SIL, Machinery Safety, CE Marking, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct machinery Risk Assessments in accordance with EN ISO 12100 and EN ISO 13849-1.
• Perform FMEA, SISTEMA assessments, Technical File Validation, and machinery safety assessments.
• Conduct explosive atmosphere and ignition hazard assessments for electrical and mechanical equipment in line with ATEX requirements.
• Handle ATEX technical compliance documentation and Declarations of Conformity (DoC).
• Conduct on-site EMC testing, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
• Perform/support SIL and Functional Safety assessments, including HAZOP, LOPA, FTA, ETA, FMEA, and FMEDA.
• Support end-to-end SIL 2/SIL 3 certification projects.
• Manage project delivery, client coordination, and achievement of assigned monthly revenue targets.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in industrial product compliance, machinery safety, functional safety, testing, inspection, or certification.
• Strong working knowledge of:
• ATEX 2014/34/EU and 1999/92/EC, IECEx, DSEAR and NEC
• Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230
• EN ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849-1 and EN 60204-1
• SIL, HAZOP, LOPA, FTA, ETA, FMEA/FMEDA
• Hands-on experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, SISTEMA, Technical File Validation, and CE Marking.
• Experience in ATEX/explosion protection assessments and SIL certification projects, preferably SIL 2/SIL 3.
• CompEx certification (Ex01–Ex04/Ex05–Ex06) or ATEX Inspector certification would be an advantage.
• Strong client management, technical documentation, communication, and commercial skills.
