Job summary

TÜV SÜD South Asia Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a backend developer to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions within an agile IT team.

You will work on Python and .NET, design robust RESTful APIs, and contribute to cloud-based microservice architectures. The role emphasizes security, data management, and collaboration with an international team. The position offers a hybrid work model in Pune, with a focus on delivering robust backend systems and shaping the Solution Roadmap.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of backend programming languages and frameworks, especially Python and .NET, in generative AI domain.
• Proficiency in managing databases and designing robust RESTful APIs.
• Proven experience in backend development, with performance-critical and high-availability systems.
• 3+ years of experience in backend projects in industry or academia.
• Experience with cloud technologies and microservices architectures.
• Understanding of server-side architecture, security practices, and data storage.

Responsibilities

• Work in an agile framework to deliver backend solution artifacts (code, docs, tests).
• Populate backlog with technical features and system enhancements.
• Use backend tools and Azure DevOps effectively.
• Align with Product Owner and Project Manager on objectives and priorities.
• Ensure timely delivery of robust, scalable backend solutions.
• Own the backend software stack and contribute to technology decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of databases, API integrations, and server architectures.
• Keep backend documentation up-to-date.
• Assist in developing and refining the Solution Roadmap.

Your Tasks:

• Works in an agile framework to deliver solution artifacts (code, documentation, unit testing) with a focus on backend functionality
• Actively contributes to populating the backlog with technical features and system enhancements
• Utilizes common and DI (Data Intelligence)-team specific backend tools along with Azure DevOps effectively
• Aligns objectives, priorities, and business requirements with the Product Owner and Project Manager
• Ensures timely delivery of robust, scalable, and high-performance backend solutions
• Contributes to technology decisions and owns the backend software stack
• Maintains deep knowledge of database systems, API integrations, and server architectures
• Keeps backend-related documentation up-to-date and comprehensive
• Supports the technology lead in developing and refining the overall Solution Roadmap

Your Qualification:

• Excellent knowledge of backend programming languages and frameworks, in particular Python and .NET, in particular in the domain of generative AI
• Proficiency in managing databases and designing robust RESTful APIs
• Proven experience in backend development, particularly with logic-heavy, performance-critical and high availability systems
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in industry or academia focused on commercial backend projects
• Experience working with cloud technologies and microservice architectures
• In-depth understanding of server-side application architecture, security practices, and data storage strategies
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve technical issues autonomously
• Familiarity with agile development practices and the ability to work independently
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI / CD pipelines to streamline deployment and operations
• Pragmatic approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• Adaptability to different business contexts and environments
• Highly motivated to tackle challenging problems
• Team player with the ability to collaborate in international and multicultural teams
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written) and proficient in German (B1 level or above)
• Bachelor / master’s degree in computer science, AI, Information Technology, or related field
• Specific training to maintain and extend technology and programming knowledge
• Cybersecurity training
• Advanced courses in DevOps, system architecture, and data management concepts
