Job summary

Bull Machines in Coimbatore is seeking a senior procurement professional to lead CAPEX procurement for plant machinery, production equipment, utilities, automation and engineering CAPEX.

The role requires reviewing technical specifications and URS, identifying capable suppliers, negotiating terms and managing budgets to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency across projects.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Electrical Engineering.
• 812 years of experience in CAPEX Procurement / Project Procurement / Engineering Procurement.
• Experience in technical specification review, techno-commercial evaluation, supplier qualification and technical negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of machine capacity, cycle time, accuracy, tooling, automation, utilities, installation and commissioning requirements.
• Hands-on experience in CAPEX budgeting, cost estimation, ROI/payback analysis and project cost control.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end procurement of plant machinery, production equipment, utilities, automation and engineering CAPEX.
• Review technical specifications, URS, machine layouts, process requirements and equipment scope received from Engineering/Projects.
• Identify technically suitable suppliers and conduct technical capability assessment and supplier qualification.
• Evaluate supplier offers through technical and techno-commercial comparison, including machine specifications, capacity, accuracy, cycle time, automation and utility requirements.
• Lead negotiations on equipment cost, tooling, spares, installation, commissioning, warranty, AMC, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate Make vs Buy, new vs refurbished equipment and alternative technical solutions wherever applicable.
• Prepare and monitor CAPEX budgets, cost estimates, purchase commitments and project expenditure against approved limits.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Finance and Projects for technical clarification and procurement finalization.
• Ensure equipment conforms to approved technical specifications, drawings, quality standards and performance parameters.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, standardization and supplier development initiatives.
• Track project milestones, identify procurement risks and ensure on-time availability of equipment as per project timelines.
• Develop and maintain a qualified CAPEX supplier base for critical machinery, equipment and engineering requirements.
